Bugaku was a Rokugani courtly dance style, in which masked dancers performed fictional characters with stylized steps and movements, alongside with the accompaniment of many geisha who played the biwa or samisen. The music was known as gagaku, which was performed in a very slow, solemn, and majestic way.
