(669) Taolandra: game face on! (669) Jen Vadur: ((completely on)) (669) Jen Vadur: ;) (666) Niari: USA lost. (666) Niari: Damn. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Nuts. -5000 XP for everyone! (653) ShadowDragon8685: :P Kidding. (666) Niari: I knew I shouldnt have arrived early! (669) Jen Vadur: aitch, almost burst a vein there (669) Jen Vadur: lol (653) ShadowDragon8685: Heh, chill... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Mmmmh... crapicus. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Morco's not going to be arriving tonight, his brother is wrestling, and he has to be there... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Where's Nico and Ferrago, though? (669) Jen Vadur: mmm, weird... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago's on his way. (684) Ferrago (enter): 18:00 (669) Jen Vadur: heya ferrago! (684) Ferrago: Hi. (666) Niari: 'lo. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Hi, lo, Ferrago! (653) ShadowDragon8685: now we need Nico... Let's give him some time to show. Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (684) Ferrago... (653) ShadowDragon8685: He was talking to me earlier, so he's probably just getting something to eat. (669) Jen Vadur: most likely (653) ShadowDragon8685: Let's give him some time to get back... In the mean-time, I wanted to speak with you all. (653) ShadowDragon8685: This story arc won't last much longer. The game dynamic is going to change. (684) Ferrago: Oh? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Up until now, it's been "here's a problem the Jedi Order is facing, you guys have been picked to deal with it, go and deal with it." (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's been a pretty straightforward "go here, investigate stuff, lightsaber bad guys" paradigm. (653) ShadowDragon8685: I'm certain this is unsatisfactory to most of you. It is to me, and hell, I'm the one who implemented it! (653) ShadowDragon8685: The reason for this is because I'm simply not very confident in my own improvisational skills, and I was yelled at for using the whiteboard to create almost non-assed battle-maps in the past. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Nico's on his way, by the way. (669) Jen Vadur: this should be interesting... :D (653) ShadowDragon8685: Let's wait for him to get here to continue this talk. (669) Jen Vadur: np (684) Ferrago: Well, I've been enjoying the game so far, but a change of pace could be interesting. ** (653) ShadowDragon8685 sighs ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: His ORPG is 'updating'... (666) Niari: Oy. (669) Jen Vadur: lol (653) ShadowDragon8685: Heh. ** (653) ShadowDragon8685 sighs. ** (666) Niari: ...what's wrong now? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Just a bit annoyed at Nico's ORPG. (653) ShadowDragon8685: He's got to have some kind of setting b0rked that could be set right. (669) Jen Vadur: don't worry shadow, almost done i'm sure (666) Niari: What the heck version is he using that it needs to update everytime? (653) ShadowDragon8685: yeah.. BTw (669) Jen Vadur: oh ef (653) ShadowDragon8685: You guys see the map, right? (653) ShadowDragon8685: I wish I knew! (669) Jen Vadur: yep (666) Niari: Yep. (684) Ferrago: I see it. (694) Joe (enter): 18:21 (695) Nico (enter): 18:21 (669) Jen Vadur: 'lo nico! (653) ShadowDragon8685: Hurrah! Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (695) Nico... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Now, we all need to talk before we start. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Since it's better to talk before than after, when everyone's tired. :) (653) ShadowDragon8685: GM's Postpad: This story arc won't last much longer. The game dynamic is going to change. Up until now, it's been "here's a problem the Jedi Order is facing, you guys have been picked to deal with it, go and deal with it." It's been a pretty straightforward "go here, investigate stuff, lightsaber bad guys" paradigm. I'm certain this is unsatisfactory to most of you. It is to me, and hell, I'm the one who implemented it! The reason for this is because I'm simply not very confident in my own improvisational skills, and I was yelled at for using the whiteboard to create almost non-assed battle-maps in the past. I tend to feeeze when put on the spot, or worse, narrate myself into a corner. (695) Nico: I hope this isn't 'the talk'. (653) ShadowDragon8685: KotNR is not ending. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Fear not. (669) Jen Vadur: lol (694) Joe (exit): 18:23 (666) Niari: Good! (653) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, my point is, this paradigm is going to change. The next story arc, you're all being let loose into the galaxy with a very high degree of autonomy and an object which can't be concretely defined. (669) Jen Vadur: i like it already (653) ShadowDragon8685: However, I have my concerns. whispering to ShadowDragon8685, In the past, players suddenly thrown to the wild with a high degree of freedom have frozen, unable to reach a decision of what to go do without a guy iwth a big ! over his head. (653) ShadowDragon8685: In the past, players suddenly thrown to the wild with a high degree of freedom have frozen, unable to reach a decision of what to go do without a guy iwth a big ! over his head. (653) ShadowDragon8685: And worse is when the players all have ideas, and they can't reach an accord. (669) Jen Vadur: hehe (669) Jen Vadur: hmmm, do you think we might be this indevisive? (669) Jen Vadur: decisive... (653) ShadowDragon8685: I've... Had cause for... Concern on that regard. (669) Jen Vadur: i'm listening... (695) Nico: Now, if we were an entire group of rogueish bastards, this would be easy. Heists abound! (669) Jen Vadur: lol nico (659) Mkire: Hello friends of my friend, if no one objects, tonight i shall be a (mostly) silent observer. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Nothing concrete, nothing specific... (653) ShadowDragon8685: I'm just worried that either everyone will freeze suddenly with no idea what to do, or worse, everyone will have their own ideas and the game will descend into an argument. (697) Jade (enter): 18:29 (653) ShadowDragon8685: So... I'm trying to give you a heads-up that the next story arc will be very different, and break out of the "mission: objective" mold. (697) Jade (exit): 18:30 (697) Jade (enter): 18:30 (697) Jade: Disconnecting from server... (697) Jade (exit): 18:30 (669) Jen Vadur: hmmm, ok... i actually think it'll be a lot of fun (653) ShadowDragon8685: I hope so... :) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, does everyone have that? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Any questions, comments? (669) Jen Vadur: got it.. no question from me (669) Jen Vadur: questions* (666) Niari: None here. (684) Ferrago: Nope. (695) Nico: Sounds alright. (653) ShadowDragon8685: All right,... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Now, things have gone Bad. The Alderaanians and Jaz-Am aptured the Gallofree Yards GR-75, and it's now hovering over the landing pads, a long landing ramp extended to the (empty) middle pad. You've found yourselves caught in the middle of what is basically a full-scale reenactment of the Clone Wars. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Gakarra the Hutt apparently had the ability to bring her Lucrehulk's main transmitter back online, or to repair it. Blowing the comm tower has done nothing. (653) ShadowDragon8685: ((Hang on, who was here during last game's abortive session?)) (666) Niari: (Myself, Nico, and Jen.) (684) Ferrago: (Not I.) (669) Jen Vadur: (crappy crap) (653) ShadowDragon8685: ((Right)) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Your groups reached the hangars from the west doors, and Nico, Niari and Jen ran into the hangar ahead of the others, as the Alderaanians and Jaz-Am were (barely) holding the east side, using trickery and tatics, while the refugees barricaded the west, using the heavy guns, explosive barrels, and the fact that thad the high ground to fight off a heavy wave of droids. (653) ShadowDragon8685: However, sixty people do not move fast, especially when they've taken wounded in the battle: and worse, Gakarra has sent the next waves in heavy armored transports, and Panaka 'suggested' that everyone abandon the barricades and get inside for shelter. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Here is the situation as it stands: Morco is running from ship to ship, readying them for launch. The four of you may distribute the vehicles you have at your disposal any way you wish, bearing in mind that it will take time to squeeze the landspeeder through doors which are not at least two squares wide. The landspeeder has taken 16 HP of damage, but since Panaka was acting as Commander and Nico was acting as Gunner at the time, the bonus HP they provided more than covered that; it's a nonissue. You all have full HP, and every one of you have a single ion grenade. (653) ShadowDragon8685: There are four of you, and four doors into the landing bay which have no physical doors. They are open entryways. The other doors you have time to seal, with any means at your disposal: hacking, mechanical disabling, or welding them shut. (669) Jen Vadur: (oh yeah, i remember that now) (695) Nico: (Hm, where is that new speeder of mine?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Panaka's currently on it acting as commander for the whole force, he and that speeder will be the last ones in the western door. By the time the shit starts, it'll be back under your command. (684) Ferrago: (Am I anywhere?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Oh, wait. (653) ShadowDragon8685: YOUR bike? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Some ex-soldier HAD been using it to fire out of gaps in the barricade, it's now back in your custody. (695) Nico: (Waitwaitwait, my shiny new speederbike is being driven by an old man?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Possessiveness is unbecoming of a Jedi. You weren't using it at the time. (669) Jen Vadur: (lol!) (695) Nico: (Pfft, this is me, the player, being possessive, not my character.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: And this is me, the GM, telling you to chillax, I'm not going to wreck your shit when you're not on it. (653) ShadowDragon8685: When you are on it, of course, it's fair game. (669) Jen Vadur: (omg this is so funny!) (695) Nico: (Eh.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: anyway, as I said, I'm describing the resources you have at your disposal. You have two Aratech speeder bikes with blaster cannons, and a SoruSuub landspeeder with a dual light blaster cannon as it appears in SSOTG. That's a light artillery piece there. It's not uparmored in any way, however. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's going to take time for those civilians to cram onto that elevator and descend down to board their transport. During this time, Gakarra the Hutt is going to be doing her damndest to end you. (695) Nico: (Well, what we want to do is get off-planet, right? Protect the civilians, I say we loadup and get the fuck outta here.) (669) Jen Vadur: (i agree fully) (695) Nico: (So all the civilians are on another level?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Fortunately, she hasn't sent starfighters to strafe you or the transport. This is a ground battle, you four are waging a delaying action until the civilians get out, then you're going to get the fuck out for yourselves. (653) ShadowDragon8685: No, the civilians are crammed into Bay H with the other space transport, whose crew have locked it down tight and want no part of any of this. (695) Nico: (And we're in Bay I?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You're wherever you choose to start. (695) Nico: (Our ship is in Bay I?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: If you wish, you can conscript Squads of the few civilians you have under arms (as many as four squads,) and you may decide to keep Panaka up here as well. Bear in mind, the Squads will use the stats of Rebel Troopers, they'll be little match one-on-one for even a squad of OOM battle droids, let alone a Droideka. (669) Jen Vadur: (i think that's right) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Hold on. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The dog is killing my ears. (669) Jen Vadur: (haha) (669) Jen Vadur: (i think save as many as we can, those guys are gonna get killed too quickly) (695) Nico: (I don't have a clear mental picture of what's going on right now in game.) (666) Niari: (Droids are coming and we're buying time for the civvies to ge tout.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Okay, let me try again. You've got a little bit of time to set up how you're going to defend these landing bays before battle droids start rolling in. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Most of your civilians are unarmed, and they're just going to take Time to get to the elevator and down it, and board the ship. (716) LC (enter): 18:51 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Anyone you conscripted who's still alive will have to be evacuated on the elevator before you can leave, so there's one argument for not setting them up, but they're covering fire for you, which is a good argument for conscripting them. (653) ShadowDragon8685: And it's only large enough to take a single squad at a time. (695) Nico: So, they're on another level? (653) ShadowDragon8685: No. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The transport and the fighters are. (695) Nico: Where is the elevator coming to and from? (669) Jen Vadur: (difficult decisions) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Do you see the brown square? (653) ShadowDragon8685: There. That's the elevator. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's at the top here, and it goes to the landing pads below. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The landing pads are fifteen meters down. (695) Nico: So, they're not level with us? they're above us? (653) ShadowDragon8685: NO!. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Argh! (653) ShadowDragon8685: You, AND THEY, are occupying this complex. (695) Nico: But they're fifteen meters above us! (653) ShadowDragon8685: whimper (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Phoenix Sunrise and the starfighters are not on the same floor! (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Phoenix Sunrise is in Bay I, fifteen meters above the starfighters. (719) LC (enter): 18:54 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Do you understand now? (695) Nico: Not really. I'm trying to figure out where the civilians are, and where the ship is, to see if it would be faster to fly the ship up to where they are, and let them board it from there. ** (653) ShadowDragon8685 sighs ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: Okay, let me try this again. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The landing bays complex is only one floor. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The elevator goes down 15 meters, opening onto the landing pads below, which are outside, in the air. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The transport is hovering beyond the landing pads (south off the map) with it's ramp extended onto the middle pad (653) ShadowDragon8685: The civiians are mostly herded into Bay H, because it's the largest open space, and they're preparing to evacuate into the central hallway, move south to the elevator, and move down the elevator. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The transport cannot fly up to the bay, it's ramp won't extend that far, it'd crash. (695) Nico: So, as the bay is outside, and the elevator goes down to the bay, could we say, hover near the civilians and let them onto the ship? Or are there walls? (653) ShadowDragon8685: whimper (653) ShadowDragon8685: The LANDING BAYS ARE NOT OUTSIDE! (695) Nico: Crash! Ha! Meet my laser cannons. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The landing bays are INSIDE! (653) ShadowDragon8685: The LANDING PLATFORMS are outside! (695) Nico: Something tells me you need to draw a 3D map to get this into my head. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Were you paying attention when I described you guys landing here? (669) Jen Vadur: (hehe) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The platforms are sized for starfighters and small ships, NOT ships the size of the Phoenix Sunrise. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Gallofree Yards GR-75 is the size of a frigate. (684) Ferrago: (am I the only one who thinks it's pretty funny how mad the GM is getting) (669) Jen Vadur: (nope) (653) ShadowDragon8685: It is hovering on repulsorlifts in mid-air beyond the landing platforms. (695) Nico: Is that the ship we're trying to get people on, or? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Yes, it's the ship you're trying to get the people on. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Unless you think you can cram seventy people into a ship sized for six. (669) Jen Vadur: (success) (695) Nico: And are they saying they want nothing to do with it? (653) ShadowDragon8685: (Hint: you can't) (653) ShadowDragon8685: No, they want to get onto it as much as you want them onto it! It's their ship, they want to get back onto it and get the fuck off this rock. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The hold-up here is the time it takes for the elevator to travel. (666) Niari: (I don't blame him, Ferrago.) (695) Nico: Aha, there's another transport in bay H. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Yes, it's sealed tight, the people inside want nothing to do with this. (653) ShadowDragon8685: If you try to force your way on, they'll fire their main engines and fry everyone in the bay dead. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Don't do that. (666) Niari: (....so, are we good to go now?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Do you understand this now? (695) Nico: Not really, but I'll just go with the flow. ** (653) ShadowDragon8685 sighs. ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: What are you not getting? (695) Nico: It's just holding back the game now, I'll probably pick it up in-game. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Do you see that bright blue linoe? (653) ShadowDragon8685: That is the edge of the 'building' you're in, which is actually carved into a gigantic cliff. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The holes in the stone wall are the landing bay entrances, where you fly ships in and out of. They have yellow caution markings painted on the end. The stone walls are stone walls. (653) ShadowDragon8685: South of that line is open air. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Fifteen meters below the floor you're on now - you're north of the line - are the landing pads, those six pads extending out over the open water. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's an arbitrarily long drop down into the water, don't fall. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The elevator in the middle goes between the floor you're on now, and the level the landing pads are on. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The transport the refugees need to be loaded onto is hovering in the air south of those landing pads, the landing ramp is fifteen meters below you. The ship cannot fly up to the level you're on, it would crash into the cliff and the landing pads if it tried. (695) Nico: (Alright, that's fine. Lets just get this party started, eh?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Do you understand it? (653) ShadowDragon8685: I'm not starting until you understand the situation, because that leads to colossal suck. (695) Nico: (Yes, I understand. Though that water looks like rocks.) (669) Jen Vadur: (lol) (653) ShadowDragon8685: ... Whaaa? (653) ShadowDragon8685: But... (653) ShadowDragon8685: But... (653) ShadowDragon8685: That water texture is real water. (695) Nico: Looks. Like. Rocks. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Reality is Unrealistic? :( (653) ShadowDragon8685: I assure you, it's water. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's very, very wet, and very, very far below you. (695) Nico: Swim in it. (695) Nico: I demand proof. (669) Jen Vadur: (lol, if you look real quick your eye kind of deceives you) (669) Jen Vadur: (but i see the water) (695) Nico: SEE! (653) ShadowDragon8685: A Bigger Fish leaps up out of the water and eats your ship. :P (669) Jen Vadur: (hahahahahaha!) (695) Nico: Lets not get into the bigger fish thing. (653) ShadowDragon8685: No, okay. Anyway... (653) ShadowDragon8685: As I said, you have a little time to organize before the droids get back. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You can throw up barricades, arrange units from the refugees, place your vehicles where you want them. (669) Jen Vadur: (good, i think let's fly up to the landing bay!) (669) Jen Vadur: (lol, kidding) (653) ShadowDragon8685: I will point out that if you use the vehicles instead of packing them away, you might have to decide between abandoning them and dieing. (684) Ferrago: (I don't need no stinkin' vehicle) (666) Niari: (Niari probably functions better without a vehicle, so she's not going to take one and is going to work on barricading the entrances as best as possible.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You have time to pack them onto the Phoenix Sunrise before the fighting starts. (695) Nico: (I'm packing away my speederbike, that's for sure.) (684) Ferrago: (I'm a Cheddar monk) (695) Nico: (Stop makin' me look bad rifle boy.) (669) Jen Vadur: (well i don't have a speeder, so i'll just be defending those civvies) (653) ShadowDragon8685: And where would you like Panaka? he can monitor the situation by commlink and provide tactical advice (IE, his Officer talents), or you can keep him here. (695) Nico: (I'll be stroking my speederbike, saying: "My precious," over and over as I store it. And no, not really.) (669) Jen Vadur: (lol nico) (666) Niari: (I figured it would be best if he was in charge of herding the civilians out - and keep us apprised of how it is going so we know when to get out.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Fortunately, it's a swift action to use his Officer talents, so he can do both at once. :) (666) Niari: (Works for me.) (684) Ferrago: (speaking of rifles, as I never used my Skill Training I assumed no one, meaning you, GM, would mind if I switched it out for a totally different feat) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Wait, you mean your Skill Training Heavy Weapons? (684) Ferrago: (no, Use Computer that I picked up when I leveled up before, but forgot I had) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Well, if you want, but you might want to keep it... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Remember, there's doors here. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You can hack them to slam shut in front of drois but open automatically for your crew. (684) Ferrago: (hrrm, true.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: that way they'll act as empty air for you, but walls to the droids. (695) Nico: (Don't listen to him, you're FERRAGO, you blow doors up, not 'hack' them!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The droids, BTW, are too busy to help: Diver and Benign are readying the starfighter for launch, and T3-TT is readying the Phoenix for launch. (669) Jen Vadur: (haha, good advice nico) (653) ShadowDragon8685: So, would you like to Bastard Rodian the Doors? (695) Nico: (So, in all this chaos, where are the front lines in the battle against the droids?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Otherwise anyone can open the doors, but they take a square of movement away... Well, unless you weld them shut or barricade them or can mechanically disable them. (653) ShadowDragon8685: See the four doors on the left and right sides of the map? (653) ShadowDragon8685: The ones going off the map? (653) ShadowDragon8685: The barricade's remains will prevent Destroyers from coming from the left side, but there will be Droidekas coming from the right. The inner doors to Bay H have been lightsabered open, the only option to seal them would be to barricade. (653) ShadowDragon8685: There will be droids. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Oh, there will be droids. (669) Jen Vadur: (niaaaari... i'm still having issues with my mini... could you please load her up again for me?) (695) Nico: Not for long, I'll be damned. (666) Niari: (Sure.) (695) Nico: (Yeah, mine too please!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: So, let's cut to the chase. How would you like to prepare - you can build barricades, you can station sentries if you want. You can plant bombs. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The transport had the mining explosives on it, and Jaz-Am brought a lot back with him. (684) Ferrago: (The reason I was switching out a feat was to meet the prerequisites of a prestige class, as I can't take Jedi Knight at the same level as everyone else, and I don't want to be stuck taking extra levels of a base class.) (669) Jen Vadur: (whoever's good with bombs i suggest them...) (666) Niari: (Only mini I have for you Nico is the red marker.) (695) Nico: (That'll do me fine.) (669) Jen Vadur: (lol, oh and thnx niari) (666) Niari: (Niari's not really inclined mechanically - so she's going to barricade as many of the doors as she can.) (716) LC (exit): 19:23 (669) Jen Vadur: (and me) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Right. Jaz-Am is trained in Mechanics, BTW, so he'll plant some bombs if you want him too. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Okay, what are you barricading? (666) Niari: (She'll work on barricading the doors to the right as best as she can.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Um, to the right? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Okay, that might hold them off for a round or two. (653) ShadowDragon8685: If you barricade entry doors, though, the droids can blast through them eventually, especially the Destroyers. ** (669) Jen Vadur helps Niari ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: The barricades have 50 HP and Hardness 10. (684) Ferrago: (meh, screw it, I'll keep the skill training) (684) Ferrago: Can I hack the doors now? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Sure. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You want them to snap-open for your friends and snap shut when they're not there, right? (684) Ferrago: Quite. (653) ShadowDragon8685: All right, the doors which remain solid will do so. (653) ShadowDragon8685: And Nico, what will you do? (684) Ferrago: Ferrago isn't much for mechanics, but he's learned a thing or two about computers. He gets to work reprogramming the doors to open automatically for his group, and stay closed for everything else. (666) Niari: (As soon as she's done barricading and if the others don't need help with anything - she'll ready an action with the ion grenade.) ** (669) Jen Vadur gets on the communicator with Jaz-Am: "Won't you set some bombs for those droids Jaz-Am, it should help a lot." ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: You don't need any Mechanics checks to plant bombs just to blow up droids in the halls, by the way. (653) ShadowDragon8685: "I got ya, mon. I'm already settin' 'em up." Jaz-Am will be planting bombs in the far-western hallway. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Nico? (653) ShadowDragon8685: What are you going to do? (669) Jen Vadur: "Thanks Jaz!" (684) Ferrago: (Do I need to roll anything to program the doors?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You have time to Take 10. (684) Ferrago: (Ahh, good point. Alright then.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Nico? (719) LC: Disconnecting from server... (719) LC (exit): 19:32 (669) Jen Vadur: (toilet probably) (666) Niari: (If Niari still has time - she'll barricade the other doors too if no one else hasn't.) (666) Niari: (Or she'll just ask Nico to do it for her.) (669) Jen Vadur: (good idea!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The outside doors, or the inside doors? (653) ShadowDragon8685: The outside doors will pretty much inevitably be blown open. (653) ShadowDragon8685: But they might bypass the inside doors. (745) Noelle (enter): 19:34 (669) Jen Vadur: (whatever holds them longer i think) (666) Niari: (Inside doors, then the outside ones if she has time - even a few seconds is better than nothing.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: all right. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Okay. (666) Niari: (And she'll take up position there.) (666) Niari: (Readying an action with the Ion grenade.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Are you sure you want to take up your initial position in with the refugees? (653) ShadowDragon8685: If the droids fire on you and miss, they'll be hitting civilians. (666) Niari: (I dont think there's much else she can do with her lack of mechanical expertise. Though I hope someone guards the left door in the hallway with Panaka while the rest of us focus on not letting the droids through the two doors on the right.) (666) Niari: (I keep forgetting how many frickin' civvies are in the room, sorry.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Um... The left hallway with panka? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Panaka's in the center hallway. (695) Nico: brb (666) Niari: (Mis-explained - the door in the hall with Panaka...) (666) Niari: (The one leading into the other landing bay.) (666) Niari: (That one.) (669) Jen Vadur: (Jen will defend the door on the right, north door) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You can also put up fighting positions, by the way. Jaz-Am demonstrates by throwing a crate against the wall and drawing his heavy blaster pistol, crouching behind it. (653) ShadowDragon8685: (You can put up a square of "cover" for free) (684) Ferrago: (oops) (684) Ferrago: (can you get rid of that? I think I clicked something I didn't mean to) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Get rid of what? (684) Ferrago: (Ferrago.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Tjat (653) ShadowDragon8685: That's odd... (666) Niari: (Sounds like a good idea, Niari will do the same from her positon - grenade in one hand and lightsaber in the other.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: I don't seem to be able to click him. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ah, but he's gone. (666) Niari: (Jen - you should move somewhere to the left hangar.) (684) Ferrago: (ahh, thanks) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Do you want it north or south of you? (666) Niari: (There's nothing to defend in the right hangar.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: South, I'd presume? (653) ShadowDragon8685: ((Well, the Phoenix Sunrise is in the right hangar... (666) Niari: (yes.) (669) Jen Vadur: (oh crap, i was confused... i'll do that then... north door on the left) (684) Ferrago: (Hrmm. Where to place myself...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: All right, you're going all-left? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Okay. (666) Niari: (One last thing.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago, are you going to throw up a crate for cover? (684) Ferrago: (Sounds good to me.) (666) Niari: (Can we tell T3 to shut off ALL systems in the Phoenix Sunrise to simulate the ship being down - and then when the droids come in - to fire up the main engines and fry as many as he can?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Where do you want it? (653) ShadowDragon8685: There's already one to your south. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Um, you could, but it'd take ten combat rounds to start back up. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It would probably be better to leave her active and let the docking gun handle any droids that get through the door. (666) Niari: (That won't work then, yeah - docking bay gun it is.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Remember, they'll have to blast through the doors. (666) Niari: (Was hoping to get an immediate surprise boom out of the Sunrise, so nevermind.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: They won't open for droids. (666) Niari: (Right.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago, where'd you go? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Remember, that room is stuffed with civilians. Do I need to put up "civlian squad" tokens? (669) Jen Vadur: (yeah, then we all know where they are, hehe) (666) Niari: (Hmm, another idea. Is there any jet feul lying around - some sort of explosive that we can stick by some of the barricades - probably the right door - to give them a nasty surprise when they cut them open? Or will that not work?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: All right. (666) Niari: (Other than that, Ive got no idea.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Sure, you can do that. There's barrels of explosive fuel. But you don't have much time (684) Ferrago: (Right. Hmmm...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Well, unless Nico was moving explosive barrels all the time. (669) Jen Vadur: (i actually think we're pretty well set up) (666) Niari: (We'll send some of the armed civies to do that before resuming defensive positions.) (669) Jen Vadur: (but we'll see about that) (666) Niari: (Or Nico can, yes.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: (669) Jen Vadur: (holy eff) (653) ShadowDragon8685: see that? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Each one of those is four people (653) ShadowDragon8685: That's how many people you need to keep alive here. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You can, if you wish, turn four of those into squads with blaster pistols and station them, or just let those guys evacuate with the rest. (684) Ferrago: (Wow.) (669) Jen Vadur: (shite) (666) Niari: (probably best to turn them in blaster pistols - the goal is to get as many out safely.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You don't nessessarily have to station them far... (653) ShadowDragon8685: But it might be a good idea to have them in the main hallway with panaka. (669) Jen Vadur: (i vote we fight them ourselves, and get everyone to safety... you mentioned they're weak) (666) Niari: (Yeah, that was the idea.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: All right. (669) Jen Vadur: (yes i agree to that) (684) Ferrago: (Where are our enemies most likely coming from, again?) (666) Niari: (Maybe, but there's also a LOT of droids, I doubt we'll be able to get them all out - so we best get as many as we can.) (666) Niari: (Left and right doors of the map.) (666) Niari: (Far left and right.) (684) Ferrago: (Ahhh...( (684) Ferrago: *) (669) Jen Vadur: (hmmm, i'm scared... this is gonna be tough) (684) Ferrago: (I'll position myself up there, then, near the right doors.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: All right (684) Ferrago: (Are those stacked up boxes?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Yep! (653) ShadowDragon8685: Good old fashioned, Grade-F cardboard. (695) Nico: (Well hey.) (684) Ferrago: (Nifty.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: But they're full of some dense stuff that'll absorb blaster bolts nicely. (669) Jen Vadur: (very nifty) (757) kbrn (enter): 19:53 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Nico, now, everyone else has done what they're going to do. (695) Nico: (So, they're coming from the left and the right?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: They've had Jaz-Am plant bombs ( the green dots) and thrown up barricades. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Yep. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Red barricades are tough, have 50 HP and DR 10. (695) Nico: (And we're mostly on the left?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Green barricades are Cover, they don't really impede movement much. (759) kbrn (enter): 19:54 (653) ShadowDragon8685: (Rough terrain if you move through them) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Yeah, more or less. (669) Jen Vadur: (lol i was thinking the same thing) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Niari, Jen are on the left, and Jaz-Am is behind them with the detonators. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You have some time to do whatever yo need to do. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago hacked the doors. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Your team treats them as open space. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The droids treat them as walls until they shoot through them (653) ShadowDragon8685: Basically, they slam open when you approach, and slam shut when you move away (695) Nico: (Putting my bike away nice and secure, then standing next to this here barracade.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Um, that's a door. Not a bad idea, really, since you could open it, attack through it and close it. (695) Nico: (On this side of the wall--as not to be caught in explosions to get through said barracade.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: But you don't need to take your time to pack the vehicles, that can happen automatically. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You can use your Time to do things like set up bombs (762) kbrn (enter): 19:56 (695) Nico: (There are bombs?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Yeah. Jaz-Am brought back some of the mining explosives he gave you last time. (695) Nico: (Also, in this time can't the civvies, or some civvies, make it to the ship?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: He's set up bombs in the west hallway, you can take some and set them up where you like. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The ones that already have, have. (695) Nico: (Last time I wasn't here, sooo.) (695) Nico: (Righto.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: So, would you like to do anything like that? Set up bombs, or throw up a barricade? (762) kbrn (exit): 19:58 (764) No Name (enter): 19:58 (764) No Name: hello there? ** (653) ShadowDragon8685 sighs ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: Please, we're busy. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's been two hours since game start and we haven't acomplished more than a few minutes of IC stuff. (695) Nico: (I've been filling holes.) (764) No Name: so sorry just found this open rpg no idea how it works I had no idea I was joining a game sorry (669) Jen Vadur: (hehe true... well the other are ready and waiting, bring on the thunder!) (695) Nico: (Hyuk hyuk hyuk.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Nico, you should've told me about that before you did it. (653) ShadowDragon8685: We've been waiting on you, and we're still waiting on you. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Whatever you're about to say, if it's in protest or your own defense, save it. (653) ShadowDragon8685: What's done is done. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Let's just move on. (695) Nico: (Wasn't exactly my idea, but I shan't go into it. How many bombs can I set up in the timeframe?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Well, Jaz-Am split his attentions. (653) ShadowDragon8685: If you're only setting bombs, six. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's not hard to drop a half-kilo block of plastique on the floor, after all. (695) Nico: How many have been set? (764) No Name (exit): 20:02 (669) Jen Vadur: (all the green dots on the map) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Jaz-Am set two. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Both of them in front of the western doors. (653) ShadowDragon8685: He's just going to blow up the first non-OOM droids that come through, whether they're B2s or Droidekas, and haul ass. (771) Krakatos (enter): 20:03 (695) Nico: So he won't plant any on the right side? (653) ShadowDragon8685: He hasn't had time! (653) ShadowDragon8685: But you do. (653) ShadowDragon8685: They go on the floor, at the corner of squares. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You can place them, use the whiteboard. (684) Ferrago: (What happened to Morco, anyway?) (666) Niari: (His brother has a wrestling match.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: He's at his brother's wrestling match. ICly, he's getting the starfighters ready for launch. (774) Throol (enter): 20:05 (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Alderaanians are aboard the Phoenix Sunrise, which is currently ready for launch. Kya is manning the docking gun, and T3 is prepping her, with the Alderaanians set up to blast any droid that tries to board. (771) Krakatos (exit): 20:05 (695) Nico: (Guessing I have time to plant two bombs? And how are they triggered, proximity or remote?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's a free action to trigger them. (695) Nico: (But can I set one to proximity? Preferably the one I can't see.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: They're civilian mining explosives, not military bombs. (653) ShadowDragon8685: They don't have a proximity setting. (745) Noelle (exit): 20:07 (669) Jen Vadur: (hehe) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You could rig a proximity detonator if you have the Mechanics skill... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Do you? (695) Nico: I'll just move the bomb instead. (653) ShadowDragon8685: All right... (695) Nico: So I can see when someone goes over it. (695) Nico: Anyway, two bombs are my lot, I imagine? (653) ShadowDragon8685: I was gonna let you blow it whenever, but okay. (653) ShadowDragon8685: All right, if you want to spend your time setting two bombs, you get two bombs. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You start to hear a deep rumble, and Panaka messages you over the commlink. "I know that sound. Droid transports, just like back... Well, nevermind that now. They're heavily armored, but they don't have any guns. They're deploying droids, we're gonna have company soon!" (669) Jen Vadur: (eek!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Panaka is proven to be misinformed, however, as you feel surpression fire start to splash over the entrances to the hangar bay. "Damn! They must have retrofitted 'em! Stay away from the doors, and get ready for it!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: Join Battle! (653) ShadowDragon8685: Er... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Roll for initiative. (695) Nico: (They'll be saying 'roger-roger' to each other comicly in no time.) (669) Jen Vadur: [1d20+9] => [19,9] = (28) (666) Niari: Init: [1d20+11] => [3,11] = (14) (666) Niari: (Of course I roll low, yet again.) (669) Jen Vadur: (tch!) (695) Nico: (Doesn't even fit.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: OOM Battle Droids: [1d20+3] => [7,3] = (10) (684) Ferrago: (That's what she said.) (695) Nico: (YES!) (695) Nico: (Thanks, Ferrago. I was losing hope.) (684) Ferrago: (Just doing my job.) (669) Jen Vadur: (totally confused, but ok then) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Panaka directs civilians out, and you all hear a droid say "You squads, in those doors!" through the western doors. Panaka has time to tell you "The tall spindly ones can be surprisingly tough, but don't overestimate them, either. Shoot 'em hard, aim for the joints and the spindly limbs!" He invokes his Assault Tactics officer feat, granting you all +1d6 damage on all rolls. (669) Jen Vadur: (awesome) (695) Nico: (There's a big, yellow, dot.) (695) Nico: (Oh, its gone.) (669) Jen Vadur: (erk, droids!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: I moved it to the left side of the map. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Two battle droid squads click-clack their way down the tunnel, four droids in each squad, carrying blaster rifles. "I don't see anything," one of them says just before they get out into the open, and another answers "Roger-roger." (653) ShadowDragon8685: They're completely caught off-guard, walking into the open flatfooted. (669) Jen Vadur: (nice, who's going first?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Order of Battle: Panaka: 29 Jen: 28 Jaz-Am: 25 Ferrago: 20 Nico: 15 Niari: 14 OOM Battle Droids: 10 NE outside barricade: 50 HP SE outside barricade: 50 HP (653) ShadowDragon8685: Jen's up first, with Jaz-Am immediately after, then Ferrago, Nico and Niari. (695) Nico: (Those spindally battle droids were never menacing.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: On the westerly side, you hear the sound you've come to know as a Droideka's guns opening fire on the barricades that were built in the outside doors. ** (669) Jen Vadur waits for the unaware droids to move over the bombs ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: [1d20+6] => [17,6] = (23) (653) ShadowDragon8685: [1d20+6] => [6,6] = (12) (653) ShadowDragon8685: As I thought, they can't miss. (669) Jen Vadur: (that's to say if they're not already close enough to them) (653) ShadowDragon8685: [5d8] => [2,2,1,8,4] = (17) [5d8] => [6,5,3,6,6] = (26) (669) Jen Vadur: (lol) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The green dots are the bombs. (653) ShadowDragon8685: They hit all four squares around them. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The whole squad is affected if even one squad is affected. (653) ShadowDragon8685: And Squads take double damage from area attacks. (653) ShadowDragon8685: That is to say... You COULD blow the OOMS up now. ** (669) Jen Vadur quietly orders Jaz-Am to activate the bombs ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Yes'm!" he hisses back. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The hallway shakes, chips fall from the ceiling and the lights flicker and dim, some fixtures blow out entirely. (669) Jen Vadur: (almost) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The droids are heavily damaged by the explosion, each squad loses a member or two, but they're not dead. "There they are! Blast 'em!" "Roger-roger!" (669) Jen Vadur: (huh? not a scientist on FP sorry) (784) Ferrago: (just roll 1d6) (669) Jen Vadur: [1d6] => [1] = (1) (784) Ferrago: (you'll need a result of at least 2 to succeed, I think he's saying) (669) Jen Vadur: (eek!) (784) Ferrago: (oh dear) (653) ShadowDragon8685: ... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Well, they're only hit points, you have plenty. (669) Jen Vadur: (i'm gonna effing die!) (784) Ferrago: (well, that just figures) (666) Niari: (People, never mention the exact number needed! You should know this by now!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: [3d8] => [1,1,2] = (4) (653) ShadowDragon8685: .... (669) Jen Vadur: (phew) (653) ShadowDragon8685: one bolt passes close enough to your skin to raise a welt. (784) Ferrago: (seems like everybody's rolling 1s this session) ** (669) Jen Vadur lives to see another day ** (669) Jen Vadur: (hehe) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Jaz-Am draws an energy ball with one hand, holding his vibrowsword in the other, making a Ready Action to hurl the ball when the droideka comes through the door. "Here 'dey com, mon!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago, you hear the rolling sound of a Droideka. (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Want a ball?" (653) ShadowDragon8685: His belt pouches are open, you can relieve him of one. (784) Ferrago: "Glad you made it in time for all the fun to start." (653) ShadowDragon8685: They look like they'll fit in your grenade launcher. (784) Ferrago: "Don't mind if I do." (784) Ferrago: Ferrago picks one up, hefts it in his hand, and pops it in his launcher. "Neat." (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Oooh, good thinkin', the magnetic launcher turbocharges 'dem!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: Taking a Ready Action to shoot the first Destroyer that comes through? (784) Ferrago: Yup. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Nico, you can definitely hear a Destroyer Droid approaching through the north tunnel. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Well, street. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's in full rolling mode. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Niari, it's your turn again. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You can push the B2s back further. (666) Niari: Niari stalks forward, almost cat-like, as she bats away the last bolt - ignoring the pain in her shoulder. Without a word she suddenly tenses and charges to the right - but that was only a feint - the Twi'lek shifts her momentum in the other direction, pivoting expertly on the balls of her feet and dragging her blade along with her. The orange blade cuts through the hallway and over the front chestplates of the lead droids - throwing up sparks wherever it manages to hit. Attack: [1d20+9] => [3,9] = (12) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Stunt 2. (666) Niari: (Dammit. Spending a FP, again.) (695) Nico: (Righto...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You hit him... (666) Niari: [1d6] => [2] = (2) (653) ShadowDragon8685: He has Ref Def 1. (653) ShadowDragon8685: err, 11. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Not all bad guys have arbitrarily high Ref Defs. (666) Niari: [Right, I keep thinking 13 for some reason.( (653) ShadowDragon8685: Squads tend to be more along the lines of having arbitrarily high hit points. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Still, you got a free FP. (653) ShadowDragon8685: So none was spent. (666) Niari: [2d8+1d6+2] => [1,6,6,2] = (15) (653) ShadowDragon8685: And you pocket one. I've got 11 to burn right now.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You fly into a frenzy of atheletic Twi'lek glowstick destruction on the B2 squad, going through the first, second, and third, the three droids helpless to stop you as you push them back in the assault. (653) ShadowDragon8685: nico? (653) ShadowDragon8685: ((I told Niari to go because I knew she had her action ready and you were gonna be slow.)) (666) Niari: Niari stops in the middle of the destruction as the last one falls, whipping her head around from left to right - her lekku wrapping themselves around her neck. "Hmpf," she looks down disdainfully as the light leaves the "eyes" of one of the last of the B2 droids. (653) ShadowDragon8685: By the way, folks, please have your actions ready. If you have to re-write, that's fine, but this goes so much faster if you're anticipating ahead. (669) Jen Vadur: (will do) (669) Jen Vadur: (turn?) (695) Nico: (So its my turn now, or what?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Nico, yes. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's your turn. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Are you going to ready an action to do anything? (695) Nico: (Lovely.) (695) Nico: Yes, I'm going to rady an action to blow up that damn destroyer as it comes over the bomb. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Right! (653) ShadowDragon8685: [40-14] => 26 (653) ShadowDragon8685: He starts at 26 hit points because of the barricade Ferrago threw at him last round. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Since he was caught with his shields down. (653) ShadowDragon8685: He rolls with great speed into the room, snapping open and popping his shields up, though he's obviously dented. (669) Jen Vadur: (oooh, perfect) (653) ShadowDragon8685: I'll roll his initiative. (653) ShadowDragon8685: [1d20+8] => [5,8] = (13) (653) ShadowDragon8685: He doesn't get to go until next round, though. (653) ShadowDragon8685: He does get his shields up. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Okay, go time. Nico's bomb goes off first. (784) Ferrago: (Do I take my readied action?) (784) Ferrago: (alrighty) (666) Niari: (I am quite amused at the fact that even though I rolled awfully none of the droids have been able to beat my crappy Init.) ** (695) Nico waits for the perfect moment, his hand on the trigger as the droideka rolls closer, setting off the bomb as it goes over it ** (669) Jen Vadur: (hehe) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Roll it. 5d6. (695) Nico: [5d6] => [4,1,5,2,3] = (15) (695) Nico: (And what action would that have took?) (784) Ferrago: (I did have a readied action, right?) (695) Nico: (So, as its shields are down I'm going to charge the fucker!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago, you can launch the ball from your grenade launcher. It's 2d6, +1d6 for Panaka's assault tactics, and +2 for being turbocharged out of your grenade launcher. (653) ShadowDragon8685: His shields are still up, but the bomb was inside the shields. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You resolve next. (784) Ferrago: Ferrago crouches and leans out behind the stack of boxes, taking quick aim at the destroyer. He pops off the energy ball, eager to see just how "supercharged" the thing is. (784) Ferrago: (2d6? The book calls energy balls 2d8. Ah well, doesn't matter.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Oh, really? Sorry. (653) ShadowDragon8685: 2d8+1d6 (653) ShadowDragon8685: 2d8+1d6+2 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Not bad. (784) Ferrago: [1d20+7] => [2,7] = (9) (653) ShadowDragon8685: ... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Guh... (669) Jen Vadur: (lol) (784) Ferrago: (What's his reflex defense?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: 14. (784) Ferrago: (I think I might have a spare FP if I should even bother...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: 1/3rd chance of an FP making the difference. (784) Ferrago: (that's a 1 in 3 chance of making it if I spend an FP...) (784) Ferrago: (Ha.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: TRue... But FPs are "use them or lose them" (784) Ferrago: (I'll go for it.) (784) Ferrago: [1d6] => [6] = (6) (784) Ferrago: (YES.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Go for it. Oh, nicely done! (666) Niari: (*high-five*) (669) Jen Vadur: (very nice!) (695) Nico: (I'll do my thing after Ferrago.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The energy ball flies through his shield and impacts him in the middle. Roll the damage. (784) Ferrago: (who wants to bet the damage will suck after that) (666) Niari: (It probably will.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: No take. (784) Ferrago: [2d8] => [8,8] = (16) (669) Jen Vadur: (let's see) (653) ShadowDragon8685: 2d8+1d6+2 plus your usual bonus. (784) Ferrago: (it's another +2) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The energy ball went into your launcher a bright, pulsating blue, but it emerged an angry, violent red, leaving twin twirling streaks as it flies through the air. Hitting the droideka in the middle, he fries out, his blaster cannons rapidly firing towards the ceiling as he rolls onto his back, until his generator blows. (653) ShadowDragon8685: He's toast. (784) Ferrago: Ferrago gapes. "You weren't kidding when you said turbocharged." (653) ShadowDragon8685: Jaz-Am aborts his action, letting out a whistle. "Dat be de bombad good, mon. I gots to get me one," he says, handing you the energy ball that was in his hand. (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Too slow, too slow," Panaka orders. "Double up on the lift!" The civilians start to double-up on the lift, almost hugging one another. (669) Jen Vadur: (isn't the OOM squad moving?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The OOM droid squad advances towards the barricade, negating it's cover bonus and firing again at Jen. (653) ShadowDragon8685: ((Err, yes. AT-ST.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Jen, Niari, a fearsome sight appears, but the echos threw you off; two walker-mounted droids, one from each corridor. The droids are tall, with shock lances, tall heads studded with red photoreceptors, mounted on fast, sleek walker units, painted black with red stripes (666) Niari: Thus far, Niari has proved pretty successful against the droids - and she was thankful she didn't have to face any of those shielded droidekas. She would have had zero idea how she would take it down with only her lightsaber. She did, however, make a mental note to stock up on ion grenades if she ever had the chance. But there was no way she was prepared to fight these things - she didn't even know what they were. (653) ShadowDragon8685: "I don't recognize the sound! It's Super Effective! (666) Niari: (*high-five*) (669) Jen Vadur: (roll attack again?) (669) Jen Vadur: (or YAY!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: YAY! (653) ShadowDragon8685: Roll damage and double iut! (784) Ferrago: YAY! (669) Jen Vadur: (kewl) (669) Jen Vadur: Damage [2d8+3] => [1,3,3] = (7) (669) Jen Vadur: (wt eff!!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Um... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Okay, two things. (653) ShadowDragon8685: 1: don't forget to add 1d6 for Panaka's bonus (653) ShadowDragon8685: 2: you can roll double the dice instead of multiplying if you'd prefer. (669) Jen Vadur: (oh yeah...) (669) Jen Vadur: (double dice hehe) (669) Jen Vadur: Crit [2d8+3] => [2,1,3] = (6) (669) Jen Vadur: (tch!) (669) Jen Vadur: [1d6] => [4] = (4) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You double the dice from Panaka, too. (669) Jen Vadur: [1d6] => [6] = (6) (669) Jen Vadur: (yay) (653) ShadowDragon8685: [7+6+4+6] => 23 (669) Jen Vadur: (not too bad) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You slice the Lancer clean in half, he never gets a chance to defend himself, and kick his robotic corpse off the walker. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's a Standard Action to mount up, by the way. (669) Jen Vadur: (yeah baby, now you have an AT-RT Ferrago) (669) Jen Vadur: (next turn maybe) (784) Ferrago: (Sweeeeet) (669) Jen Vadur: (or did i still have a standard action left?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: No, you don't, sadly. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You'll need to take it next turn, but you'll have time. (669) Jen Vadur: (thought so) (669) Jen Vadur: (now we can destroy the other one if we want!) (669) Jen Vadur: "I'll take this one for now!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Lancer on the walker north turns around to face you, Niari, but he's stymied by his inability to simply dash straight at you because of the barricades. He does nimbly pick the walker through the corridor, however, squeezing past the barricade to attack you. (653) ShadowDragon8685: ((You should probably take it... If nothing else you can hock it or give it to the temple. (653) ShadowDragon8685: ((Besiodes, you're going to need to get out of here in a hury)) (669) Jen Vadur: (decisions decisions) (653) ShadowDragon8685: He draws back, and spurs his walker-pod close, thrusting powerfully but clumsily at you, Niari. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Power attack for four: [1d20+2] => [16,2] = (18) (669) Jen Vadur: "Watch out Niari!" (666) Niari: (Miss.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: By the way, these guys are dropping their shock lances, they're not built-in. You might want to collect them, if you're of an aquisitive bent. (Swift action to grab the lance from the corpse whilst taking the time to board the vehicle) (653) ShadowDragon8685: He misses, leaving himself wide open for the retaliation (653) ShadowDragon8685: Niari, your turn. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago, your turn. (666) Niari: "I can do this," Niari assured herself as she sprintsed orward, lightsaber held out defensively in front of her. Diving between the walker's legs, the Twi'lek tumbled past the walker's stomping feet, until she came out on the other side. She didn't stop though, instead the Lethan Twi'lek continued to charge, until she reaches the crate nearby. With a whispered prayer she plants one foot on it and twists her body around, and if she wasn't so agile - this probably wouldn't have a chance of succeeding... (Acrobatics Check to prevent AoOs as she tumbles through the threatened area [1d20+11] => [20,11] = (31)) But she was extraordinarly graceful, and she proved it as she pivoted mid-air - her other foot planting on the wall next to the crate. With another grunt of exertion, the Twi'lek used the wall as a springboard to carry her up high enough to strike the droid, her lightsaber flashing with razor-quickness. Landing softly, Niari brought her weapon to bear - gripping it defensively. Attack: [1d20+9] => [16,9] = (25) (784) Ferrago: (As I don't have Surge, I'm gonna have to run to get to the door, which will take up my whole action.) (666) Niari: (No idea what the Ref of these are...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The droid tries to stop you, but fuck, who could have predicted someone could snake through such a tight space as the one between the walker's legs? His shock lance slams into the floor, electricity crackling on the bladed end, the droid's back wide open for attack. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ref 13. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Stunt 3, by the way. (666) Niari: (Ooh.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Collect your DP, your FP, and enjoy the fuck out of pwning this motherhumper. (666) Niari: [2d8+1d6+2] => [3,5,5,2] = (15) (784) Ferrago: (I think that's the first time we've had one of those.) (669) Jen Vadur: (lol, yeah well done Niari) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The droid has no hope, you cut him cleanly in half and his body flies off the walker. (666) Niari: Relief flashes over the Twi'lek's features as the droid flies apart, "That wasn't too hard," she lied to no one in particular. (653) ShadowDragon8685: AT-RTs, by the way, can be found on page 164 of the Clone Wars Campaign Guide. Pertinently, they have 60 HP, DR 5, and they have a Speed of 8 squares, as well as a 3d10x2 blaster cannon. (669) Jen Vadur: (not too bad actually) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The civilians continue to file out, and Panaka comms, "That's it, we're out of the hangar! Start pulling back, they're gearing up for something big!" (669) Jen Vadur: "We had better move then, let's take these walkers... should be faster that way." (666) Niari: Niari nods in agreement, "You hear that Panaka? We're taking the walkers, so don't shoot at us when you see us coming." (653) ShadowDragon8685: You guys can mount the walkers (and grab those lances if you give a damn.) It's Ferrago's turn. (653) ShadowDragon8685: "We hear ya!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: Tactically, he says, "The best attack is the one the enemy doesn't know is coming. Striking from a surprise vector is very effective. Take the ones behind out first, and the ones in front won't know what hit them!" (666) Niari: Springing lightly up, Niari disengages her lightsaber and drops it into her beltloop. "Right," she nods, "Now lets see how this thing handles..." (666) Niari: (Not bothering with the lance, in any case.) ** (669) Jen Vadur jumps up into the AT-RT and puts her lightsaber away ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: Seat to sit upon, handlebars to steer with, blaster cannon coaxially mounted with a spotlight... (653) ShadowDragon8685: not as fast as a speeder, but a sweet ride nontheless. (669) Jen Vadur: "Always fun when you have the higher ground." (666) Niari: Niari begins to reverse, stomping her way to a tactical retreat - keeping the blaster cannon trained at the doors at all times. (784) Ferrago: Ferrago turns and walks through the door, arm outstretched, the sound of his lightsaber hissing to life blending with the hiss of the sliding door. Flanking the unsuspecting mob of droids, he grips the saber in both hands. "Surprise, sleemo." (784) Ferrago: He takes a swing with the shimmering blue blade. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Niice. Stunt 1. (784) Ferrago: [1d20+6] => [6,6] = (12) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The walkers can actually turn in thet ight corridors. (653) ShadowDragon8685: hit! (784) Ferrago: [1d6] => [2] = (2) (784) Ferrago: [2d8+6] => [3,5,6] = (14) (653) ShadowDragon8685: one of the four droids has a chance to look behind himself - before you slice him in half. His clattering alerts the other droids, who are caught between a rock and a crazy gungan. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Jaz-Am will continue his surpressing fire: [1d20+4] => [5,4] = (9) (653) ShadowDragon8685: But he can't shoot straight. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The OOMs will move away from you, behind the crates, provoking another AoE (653) ShadowDragon8685: err, AoO. (784) Ferrago: [2d8+6] => [8,6,6] = (20) (669) Jen Vadur: (very nice throw!) (784) Ferrago: (oops) (784) Ferrago: (wrong roll) (784) Ferrago: [1d20+6] => [15,6] = (21) (784) Ferrago: (teehee) (669) Jen Vadur: (well that's even better!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Hit! (653) ShadowDragon8685: Roll damage. (784) Ferrago: (aww, we can't take the above one? :P) (784) Ferrago: Ferrago takes advantage of their motion, advancing forward and spinning on his heel to take another swing. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Well, sure. (669) Jen Vadur: (lol!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: don't forget the 1d6 for Panaka's Assault Tactics (669) Jen Vadur: (awesome!) (784) Ferrago: (I did forget about that) (784) Ferrago: (Not that it makes much difference as these things go down like punks) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Well, you're three CLs above them... (653) ShadowDragon8685: I could let you face a Gargantuan Squad^2 if you'd like... (666) Niari: (We're good, thanks.) (669) Jen Vadur: :() (653) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, add the 1d6 already. (784) Ferrago: (We could probably do it) (784) Ferrago: [1d6] => [6] = (6) (669) Jen Vadur: (shush you!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Order of Battle: Panaka: 29 Jen: 28 Jaz-Am: 14 Ferrago: 14 Niari: 14 OOM Droids SE: 10 [42-16-26] => 0 HP (653) ShadowDragon8685: You press the assault, and the battle droids collapse as you spin through them like a blue-blurred rodian dervish. "Yes mon, 'dat be 'ow you do it!" Jaz-Am withdraws towards the door, but yelps and dives for cover as blaster bolts fly towards him, barely missing them. "Droideka!" he yells. (653) ShadowDragon8685: "It be walkin' down, as a shield fer bombad lots o' mekaneeks!" (669) Jen Vadur: (omg!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: No more skirmish scouts, now Gakarra's throwing the army at you. (784) Ferrago: "Droideka? Where?" (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Down de hall!" (784) Ferrago: "Keeputa. We need to get out of here." (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Sounds like they're planning to just let us have it! We'd better get out of here," Panaka says. "Get to your ships!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: Indeed, if you check, the Destroyers are leading the way, at their walking speeds, with armies of battle droids marching in their wakes. (666) Niari: "Morco, get the Reek out of here! Jen and I are going to board one of the biiger ships!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: Um, Jen has her own starfighter... (653) ShadowDragon8685: I think she'd object to abandoning her N1. (669) Jen Vadur: (was just about to mention that) (666) Niari: (yeah, I assumed her droid would fly it.) (669) Jen Vadur: "That's okay Niari, I'll get to my Starfighter instead" (653) ShadowDragon8685: "We'll need those starfighters in the air and manned. The defenses flying out of here won't be trivial to overcome!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: "We have time if we move quickly, Destroyers aren't fast!" (666) Niari: "Right," Niari nods, "Let's go then..." (653) ShadowDragon8685: ((err, walking destroyers)) (669) Jen Vadur: "These walkers are fast, let's move!" (666) Niari: (She's gonna shove the AT-RT on one of the bigger ships and then hop onto the Reek with Morco if she still has time, if not - she'll stay on the bigger ship and help man the guns or co-pilot.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You have time to deliver the walkers to the Phoenix Sunrise and get them stored. The cargo bay is quite full, but you can (barely) manage it. (666) Niari: (Done and done then.) (669) Jen Vadur: (Jen does the exact same thing, but delivers the walker to the Phoenix) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Niari, Jen, Panaka and Jaz-Am are the last four down the lift, making for your ships - the tall, strong Gungan simpy lifts the slow-moving old man and runs for the transport, while you two run to find your starfighters already hotted up. (669) Jen Vadur: (sorry misunderstood... delivering walker) (784) Ferrago: Ferrago runs for the Phoenix Dawn. (669) Jen Vadur: (where's my starfighter?) (666) Niari: (Landing pads.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: On the far-left pad. The Reek is on the middle-right pad (669) Jen Vadur: (don't see anything there...) (669) Jen Vadur: (my starfighter i mean) (784) Ferrago: (And where exactly is the Phoenix?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Because I didn't see the point in making an icon for it? (666) Niari: Niari settles in to her gunnery seat, and lets out an exhale - knowing she wasn't done yet. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Phoenix is entirely within the red square in the bay. (669) Jen Vadur: (oh lol, sorry) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Don't bother moving your tokens, no need. (784) Ferrago: (cool) (669) Jen Vadur: (was just about to ask hehe) (784) Ferrago: He clambers up the ramp, hoping Nico beat him there, 'cause we wasn't waiting around. (784) Ferrago: er (784) Ferrago: isn't (653) ShadowDragon8685: Nico's already in the pilot's seat, and your gunnery station is warmed up and wating. ** (669) Jen Vadur Jen jumps into her N-1 Starfighter: "Let's get out of here Benign!" ** (669) Jen Vadur: (lol, typo) (666) Niari: "If we're all set, let's burn right on out of here." (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Gallofree Yards GR-75 transport is the first one to pull away, lumbering out, away from the pads as the rain starts to really drive. The R2 units in the starfighters beep and whistle, happy to be the hell out of this forsaken pirate port. As the Phoenix Sunrise is starting to shake free from the floor of the bay, the doors finally give way, and Destroyer Droids pour in. The docking gun under the 'chin' of the cockpit of Phoenix Sunrise does relatively little damage to them, being a puny 3d10 e-web equavilent. The 5d10x2 quadlaser cannons, however, are another matter. (653) ShadowDragon8685: I presume you want to let 'em have it, Ferrago? (784) Ferrago: Natch. (784) Ferrago: Ferrago lets off a stream of fire. (What's my attack bonus, again?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Don't bother. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You can't fucking miss. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Gakarra is never going to forgive you guys for this. In fact, she's probably putting a bounty on your heads over this one. he Quadlaser Cannons (784) Ferrago: [5d10+2] => [5,7,10,1,10,2] = (35) (784) Ferrago: Not after we use our token. (669) Jen Vadur: (man i'd kill that bitch if i ever saw her!) (666) Niari: (I asked about using it last week. But nooo... Apparently if we destroy half her army, she gets all pouty.) (784) Ferrago: (Aww, seriously?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Gakarra is never going to forgive you guys for this. In fact, she's probably putting a bounty on your heads over this one if she wasn't already. The Quadlaser Cannons spit crimson energy into the hangar bay, again and again; the stacked up fuel starts to go off as droids go boom, then the fuel hook-up infrastructure into the mains goes. The hangars explode in a terrific roar of fire, the other ship in the other bay and the Lambda-class shuttle having had the sense to get out in time. The cargo scow was unmanned apparently, and the hangar bay collapses as fuel erupts into violent explosions. You take pot-shots at the droid army - and it is an army - massing on the streets outside, blowing up their big transports, the Phoenix Sunrise's shields shrugging off the weak anti-vehicle blaster cannons and the odd rocket. "We can't just fly high, the turbolasers on that battleship will tear this transport apart! We'll have to escape out over the ocean and then break atmo," Panaka comms you from the transports. (669) Jen Vadur: (she wouldn't even be thinking about those tokens...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Well, let's be fair... You've only destroyed about 8% of her army. (653) ShadowDragon8685: That was a fully-loaded Lucrehold she took possession of. (784) Ferrago: (That's okay, we can trade it to someone else on he planet for something valuable.) (784) Ferrago: (*the) (784) Ferrago: (Screw Gakarra.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Or you could just trade it to the InterGalactic Banking Clan for 7,500 credits. (784) Ferrago: (Also an option.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, we are at a quandry... We only have three of five players, but we have a crewmember from each ship. (669) Jen Vadur: (a definite option, hehe) (653) ShadowDragon8685: But first thing's first, let's calculate the XP for that battle. (669) Jen Vadur: (yes please) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The first wave was two OOM squads, then an OOM and a B2 squad, then a Droideka and an OOM squad, followed by two IG Lancers. (669) Jen Vadur: (one heck of a battle guys!) (669) Jen Vadur: (lol i lost count, that's quite a lot) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Granted, you had the assistance of two heroic leveled characters and the beneficience of time and traps set up beforehand. (784) Ferrago: (Split 5 ways, it would only be 1,500 creds each though...) (784) Ferrago: (And, ooh.) (666) Niari: (1500 creds is 1500 more creds than I currently have.) (669) Jen Vadur: (any money's good money...) (669) Jen Vadur: (lol) (653) ShadowDragon8685: I think it should even out nicely if I calculate the huge pile of XP, then give Panaka and Jaz-Am a cut. (784) Ferrago: (I'm actually not 100% clear on how much money I have right now.) (669) Jen Vadur: (they deserve it Shadow, hehe) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Convienantly enough, everything is a CL 4, except the IG Lancers, who were CL 2, on CL 6 vehicles which they really didn't get to use, so I'll average those out to CL 4, too. (653) ShadowDragon8685: So, 8 CL 4s. (653) ShadowDragon8685: [800*8] => 6400 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago, Jen, Niari, Nico, Panaka and Jaz-Am participated in this fight. (669) Jen Vadur: (that's quite a bit) (653) ShadowDragon8685: [6400/6] => 1066 (669) Jen Vadur: (not bad) (653) ShadowDragon8685: So, you all get 1,066 XP, except Panaka, who gets 166. (653) ShadowDragon8685: err, 107. (784) Ferrago: (So close to being enough for level up...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Which brings me to my next point: how tired of action are you, because you still have to ESCAPE. (784) Ferrago: (I'm not tired yet.) (666) Niari: (Im up for it if you give me time to take a biobreak and whip up some more snacks. Like maybe a 10 minute break?) (669) Jen Vadur: (i vote break... 6:40am over here...) (784) Ferrago: "Everybody buckled up? Great! Let's get the hell out of here!" (669) Jen Vadur: (how long could the escape take though? (784) Ferrago: (A break for food would be good) (669) Jen Vadur: not to burst the bubble obviously... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Probably less time since it's a straight run with the elatively simple shooting-of-starfighters, but combat always winds up taking more time than anyone wants it to take. (653) ShadowDragon8685: well, shooting-of-starfighters and turrets... (669) Jen Vadur: That's fine, I'll keep going, but I'll need sleep after that hehe (669) Jen Vadur: But definitely food break (653) ShadowDragon8685: You sure? Yeah, okay. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Me too, I'm hungry. (669) Jen Vadur: Yep (666) Niari: (Excellent, brb.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: And I need to go and unhdyrate. So, go refuel and do what you gotta. (669) Jen Vadur: Kewl, reconvene in a bit! (666) Niari: (I am back and ready to go whenever everyone else is.) (669) Jen Vadur: (Ready to rock and roll!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: I'm here (784) Ferrago: here (666) Niari: (Still here. :D) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Also here. (669) Jen Vadur: (And me) (784) Ferrago: Looks like we're all here, then. (669) Jen Vadur: :D (653) ShadowDragon8685: All right. (653) ShadowDragon8685: By the way, what do you think of the map? (669) Jen Vadur: (Nice nice) (666) Niari: (It was a nice map.) (784) Ferrago: It was a good map. (653) ShadowDragon8685: No, I mean the one in front of you now. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The... The map did change, didn't it? (784) Ferrago: Uhh. (784) Ferrago: Not seeing a new map. (669) Jen Vadur: (Same) (653) ShadowDragon8685: It didn't... Fuck-a-doodle-dandy. (666) Niari: (...typical Open.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Does it tell you it's loading a new map? (669) Jen Vadur: (Green) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Means it's probably changing. (669) Jen Vadur: (Fetching...) (666) Niari: (Got it.) (666) Niari: (All flowers and pretty things.) (669) Jen Vadur: (Very nice) (784) Ferrago: Perdy. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Thank you. I spent a considerable amount of time making it purdy. (669) Jen Vadur: (Wow check the station at the bottom) (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's not a space station, just a flying building. (653) ShadowDragon8685: A large flying building, mind... (669) Jen Vadur: (Well it was worth the energy spent!) (669) Jen Vadur: (I see) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Now, you'll need tokens... We should totally use MapTool to at least make a token for the Phoenix and the N1. (669) Jen Vadur: (Waits for a mini tutorial...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Er... (653) ShadowDragon8685: I told it to add some minis... (666) Niari: ( see 'em.) (784) Ferrago: (I have MapTool already) (784) Ferrago: (If you wanted to go that way) (666) Niari: (waaaaay off to the right.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: I meant TokenTool. (666) Niari: (Ahh.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Aaaah. (653) ShadowDragon8685: That's weird. (653) ShadowDragon8685: I found them. (669) Jen Vadur: (Top right or bottom right? Don't see anything) (784) Ferrago: (Ahh, is that how Niari and Jen got their little circular tokens?) (666) Niari: (yeah, if you want me to make you one - just send me a picture or a link to a pic.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: They used a program called TokenTool and found images for their characters. (784) Ferrago: (I would have to find a Rodian picture that doesn't look completely hideous or stupid) (669) Jen Vadur: (Yay, there I am) (784) Ferrago: (No mean task) (669) Jen Vadur: (So how did we end up on that side of the map?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You mean off the map? (653) ShadowDragon8685: I think because the last map I used was wide instead of long. (669) Jen Vadur: (I mean the station is way down that side ((left)) and we're somewhere else, or are we just REALLY up high?) (666) Niari: (That's not Jeel down there, it's likely a defense turret or something similar.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Yeah, you're flying down a canyon, not in orbit. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You're all the way at the north side of the map. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Your objective is to get the fuck off the map. (669) Jen Vadur: (Ah, I see) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You can choose to start anywhere on the north edge between the canyon walls, within two squares of the map starting. (784) Ferrago: (Am I flying? I thought I was just gunning.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You are gunning. (653) ShadowDragon8685: But since Nico's not here, you choose where the ship goes. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Now, that transport's not fast, but the pilot's overrunning her engines. He's Taking 10 and can reliably increase his speed by 2 squares a turn, and double move for 8 squares. (784) Ferrago: Ehh, alright. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Now, you see all those turret emplacements? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Those are Dual Medium Laser Turrets. (653) ShadowDragon8685: They're not shielded, but they're armed, with a BAB of +3. (669) Jen Vadur: (Erk, doesn't sound nice) (653) ShadowDragon8685: err, a total attack bonus of +3. (653) ShadowDragon8685: They have 60 hP. (653) ShadowDragon8685: They're 5d10x2 weapons. The transport has SR 45 and DR 15. (653) ShadowDragon8685: [5.5*20] => 110.0 (653) ShadowDragon8685: An average hit from those guns will shred the transport's shields and do significant hull damage. (653) ShadowDragon8685: She hasn't got much hull. (653) ShadowDragon8685: But you know what's worse? (669) Jen Vadur: ... (653) ShadowDragon8685: That is a Quad Heavy Turbolaser Emplacement down there. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It deals 9d10x5 damage. [5.5*9*5] => 247.5 (784) Ferrago: Ew. (669) Jen Vadur: (Holy eff!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The average hit from that bad motherfuckerwill swat any of your starfighters from the sky with one hit, and even the Phoenix couldn't take it without more than two of you aboard and crewing her. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Fortunately for you, it's attack bonus is so low that with the -20 to hit for ships your size, it won't even try. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Unfortunately for you, the GR-75 is so large it's practically an easy shot, even with that thing's horrible attack bonus. (653) ShadowDragon8685: So, that about sums this up: you need to get south. There will be starfighters coming from those hangars on the map, and there's starfighters chasing you. (653) ShadowDragon8685: To do that, you're going to have to anihilate every motherfucking turret and droid starfighter in your way. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Well... You can try a run down one side of the canyon alone and not anihilate it's turrets, but that will leave it's hangar alive. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Niari, you might want to switch control of the Reek's Big Gun to your station, since Morco's concentrating on flying. (666) Niari: (Alright then. Nico/Ferrago should probably stick to the right - and take out everything there since they've got bigger guns than Jen and myself - we should stick together and guard the transport as best as we can - with two of us, thats more targets the turrets/fighters need to hit.) (666) Niari: (Will do that.) (669) Jen Vadur: (I completely agree with that tactic) (784) Ferrago: (Ditto.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Panaka comms as he sees the situation coming up. "They've got a lot of stuff guarding the mouth of this river. I hope you have proton torpedos!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: And... You do! Jen, you have a full 10 on that N1 starfighter, and Niari, you have 4, plus the Big Damn Gun. (666) Niari: "We'll take care of it, Panaka. Just make sure they fly that ship straight." (653) ShadowDragon8685: "We're flying on instriments and the Force here, and I'm not entirely sure our Pilot's Sensitive," he answers back. "You'd better get a move on. We can't afford to slow down!" (669) Jen Vadur: "Will do Panaka, I have quite a few torpedoes. We'll do our best!" (666) Niari: "Well, you better hope he suddenly becomes a Jedi then." Niari grumbles as she feels Morco shift the Reek forward. (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Then get out ahead of us and try to take down those hangars before we're overwhelmed!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: Initiative, please! (669) Jen Vadur: Initiative [1d20+9] => [20,9] = (29) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Transport: [1d20-5] => [5,-5] = (0) (666) Niari: Reek: [1d20+5] => [4,5] = (9) (666) Niari: (Wasnt sure if I should use the Reek's init or Niari's...) (784) Ferrago: (What's my init modifier?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Oh crap. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Right... (784) Ferrago: (In the ship.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: I need to get into their sheets... Well, no, you guys are the only PCs. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's your normal initiative or your Pilot roll, whichever is higher, modified by the ship's size modifier. (653) ShadowDragon8685: In this case, the size modifer is -2 for the Reek, -5 for the Phoenix. (666) Niari: Corrected Init: [1d20+11-2] => [12,11,-2] = (21) (784) Ferrago: [1d20+8] => [18,8] = (26) (653) ShadowDragon8685: [1d20+7] => [11,7] = (18) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Order of Battle: Jen: 29 Ferrago: 26 Niari: 21 Droid Starfighters: 18 Transport: 0 Turrets: 0 (669) Jen Vadur: (And what about the N-1?) (669) Jen Vadur: (Nvm) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Err, it would be 27 (653) ShadowDragon8685: I fixed it. Anyway... (669) Jen Vadur: (What's my speed?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: I should point out that you have the Increase Vehicle Speed option. (669) Jen Vadur: (Ok) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Didn't you copy the N1's stats to your sheet? (669) Jen Vadur: (lol nvm, didn't look!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: All right, pick where you want to start. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You ready? (669) Jen Vadur: (Yep) (669) Jen Vadur: (Jen will be protecting the GR-75, so turn skip) (666) Niari: (Yep.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: .... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Jen, you have the most proton torpedos. (653) ShadowDragon8685: If you want for the transport, the guns will get to shoot at the transport. (653) ShadowDragon8685: They will choose to shoot the transport over shooting you. (653) ShadowDragon8685: If you wait for it. (666) Niari: (Go down to the guns and blow them the hell up.) (669) Jen Vadur: (Flying) ** (669) Jen Vadur moves her ship into attack position ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: Remember, it's a Swift Action to use the Increase Speed option (172 Saga Edition) (669) Jen Vadur: (Hrmph, 16 squares right?) (669) Jen Vadur: (Or 4? Confused sorry) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Your Long range is 16-32, but you're at a -10 penalty for Long ranged attacks. (669) Jen Vadur: (I meant for moving...) (669) Jen Vadur: (Or flying that is) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Oh, we're in Starship Scale. (653) ShadowDragon8685: So it's 4. (669) Jen Vadur: (Ok... and what is my range, cause I can't seem to find that) ** (653) ShadowDragon8685 sighs ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: You're a great roleplayer. please read the rules. Anyway... (653) ShadowDragon8685: With the Torpedos, your Point-Blank (no penalty) range is 0-3 squares, Short (-2) is 4-6, Medium (-5) is 7-15, and Long (-10) is 16-30. (669) Jen Vadur: (That helps, thank you!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The laser cannons ranges are 0-1, 2,3-5, and 6-10. (669) Jen Vadur: (I'd rather wait to get closer...) (669) Jen Vadur: (Erk, fire laser cannons then) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You can use a Swift Action and a DC 20 pilot check to increase the speed you fly at. ** (669) Jen Vadur shoots off a few lasers at the turret ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's at 8 squares' range from you. You might get lucky. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's only Ref Def 10. (669) Jen Vadur: Pew pew [1d20+10] => [18,10] = (28) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You get lucky, hit. (669) Jen Vadur: Damage [10d10*2] => 136 (669) Jen Vadur: (lol sorry, wrong number!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Heh. :P (669) Jen Vadur: Damage redo [5d10*2] => 54 (669) Jen Vadur: (That looks more believable) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Don't forget... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Panaka is still using his Assault Tactics talent. (653) ShadowDragon8685: And it works in starship scale. (669) Jen Vadur: [1d6] => [3] = (3) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Add 1d6 beforem ultiplying. (669) Jen Vadur: (Very kewl) (669) Jen Vadur: (Oh right... roll again?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: So, you deal 60 HP of damage. (669) Jen Vadur: (Thank you, maths doesn't work for me this time of the morning...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Reduced by it's DR of 20, that's most of it's armored chewed away and the targeting system knocked out of alignment. (669) Jen Vadur: (I like my shippy!) (784) Ferrago: (The little grey circles are the turrets, yes?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The chrome-fronted yellow starfighter swoops to the head of the pack; with the driving rain splattering on your canopy, none of you can see jack squat. The only way to pilot in this mess is with the Force and/or instrimentation. Jen lines up the little blue targeting icon on her starfighter's HUD with the gun turret and lets rip, green laser light ripping through the intervening space and chewing into the gun. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Yes, they are. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Would you like me to mark them for you? (784) Ferrago: Not really necessary. (653) ShadowDragon8685: All right. (784) Ferrago: As the Phoenix speeds down the right side of the area, Ferrago tries to keep the turret steady. "Keeputa! I can't see anything in this!" (784) Ferrago: He swings it back and forth a few times, trying to get a lock on the turret as he peers at his targeting sensors. When the reticule hits what he thinks is his target, he lets loose with the quad lasers. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Your sensor HUD flickers to life with, Ferrago, marking the targets. Are you firing at the same target Jen shot at? (784) Ferrago: (What's the penalty shooting from there?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Medium, -5 penalty. (784) Ferrago: (Yup.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Ref Def is now 9. (653) ShadowDragon8685: No, I don't know why it went down, don't ask me to explain it, them's the rules! (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's reactor's shielding was damaged, giving it a stronger target reading. :) (784) Ferrago: (BAB+Int, right?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: plus the ship's Int, yes. And +2. (784) Ferrago: (It's been a little while.) (784) Ferrago: (Ship's Int, I mean.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You have HWP and Vehicular Combat. (653) ShadowDragon8685: That gives the +2 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Roll 'em! (784) Ferrago: [1d20+4] => [15,4] = (19) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Hit! Roll damage! (784) Ferrago: [6d10+2] => [2,3,2,1,6,9,2] = (25) (784) Ferrago: [1d6] => [2] = (2) (784) Ferrago: 54. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Phoenix's quadlaser system handily blows the turret apart, the fierce gray rain pierced by a bright boom and a flash of light. On your HUD, you see text, presumably from the Twi'lek girl hooked into the system: "Good shooting, but we've got hostiles inbound. Starfighters." (653) ShadowDragon8685: The hangars have launched a Vulture starfighter each. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Niari? You're up. (666) Niari: As Jen went for one of the turrets, Morco and Niari made way for the other. Settling down in her seat - Niari focused on the big gun for now - keeping the proton torpedos in reserve for when she needed them. "I take back what I said about rain, this is just... Ugh." The Twi'leki grumbled as the rain splatterered over her windshield. Trusting in her instruments, and flying blind with only the Force isn't something that appealed to her - so she kept a close eye on the sensors. And as soon as she came within a reasonable range of a turret - the Twi'lek let loose with a volley from the Reek's heavy cannon. (That should put me within long range.) [1d20+8-8] => [4,8,-8] = (4) (666) Niari: (ha.) (666) Niari: (...and I just noticed the chat room ID number of the RED Twi'lek is 666. Go figure.) (669) Jen Vadur: (lol) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Perhaps you ought to put more of that trust in the Force. Regardless, the Reek's big cannon spits vicious yellow laser fire, but fails completely to find the turret, instead lancing into the jungle. (666) Niari: "Well," she tries to brush it off, "I was just warming up the guns." (669) Jen Vadur: (Me next?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You probably have bigger problems: Vulture starfighters are fast! One of them closes to the cusp of Long range and lets off a volley at the Reek: [1d20+7-10] => [4,7,-10] = (1) (653) ShadowDragon8685: And the turret opens up as well! [1d20+3-10] => [12,3,-10] = (5) (653) ShadowDragon8685: But they're not having much luck. Gakarra probably should not have skimped on the fire control systems, wouldn't you say? (653) ShadowDragon8685: The transport's flight is ungainly, but it makes headway, swooping in almost-graceful curves, as Panaka says, "Vulture starfighters are like TIEs: poodoo. No shields, paper thin armor, but they carry concussion missiles. Don't let them get a missile lock, take 'em down before they can get one off." (653) ShadowDragon8685: Jen, now it is your turn again. (669) Jen Vadur: (Yay) ** (669) Jen Vadur flies the N-1 next to the GR-75 and fires off a few lasers ** (669) Jen Vadur: (At the vulture) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Long range. (669) Jen Vadur: (Medium range I think?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Long. It's seven squares. (669) Jen Vadur: (Eek ok, no bonus then, I'll try) (653) ShadowDragon8685: For a laser cannon, that starts at 6-10. (669) Jen Vadur: (Oh yeah) (669) Jen Vadur: Lasers [1d20] => [5] = (5) (669) Jen Vadur: (Pfft!) (669) Jen Vadur: "Missed that one..." (653) ShadowDragon8685: Sadly, yes. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Vulture is not quite as stationary a target as the turret was, unfortunately. Oh well, live and learn. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago? (653) ShadowDragon8685: On you. (784) Ferrago: (I'm pretty much just stuck scooting 4 squares at a time, yeah?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Um, no. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Nico's piloting. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Since he's not shooting, he can Double Move. (653) ShadowDragon8685: And his Pilot mod is +14. (784) Ferrago: (...Right.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: So he can Increase Speed to 5. (653) ShadowDragon8685: And Double Move for 10. (784) Ferrago: (Hell. Nevermind then. I couldn't even done that before.) (784) Ferrago: (*could've) (653) ShadowDragon8685: 4 squares, barely Medium range. (666) Niari: (Well, crap, I thought you couldn't double move if the gunner shoots. Could've gotten closer and failed much less spectacularly last round. Oh well, live and learn...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's All-Out Movement that disables gunner shooting. (669) Jen Vadur: (lol, lucky you guys) (666) Niari: (Ah... Well, that makes sense. D'oh.) (784) Ferrago: As the Phoenix hurtles forward, Ferrago watches his sensors. "I'm picking something up... A vulture. Let's see if I can hit a moving target in this..." (653) ShadowDragon8685: Normally they'd be putting out a much larger volume of fire, though... (784) Ferrago: [1d20+4] => [1,4] = (5) (784) Ferrago: (Apparently not!) (666) Niari: (O.o) (669) Jen Vadur: (erf!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Oops," types the screen. "I accidently re-routed your guns' power to the 'fresher. Fixing it," Kya types onto your screen. (666) Niari: (Ive never seen anyone roll as bad as you have tonight, Ferrago. I'd buy you a beer if you lived nearby.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Niari, it is your turn. (666) Niari: It's not that Niari doesn't trust the Force, its just that she didn't want to become too reliant on a thing like that. She wasn't a real Jedi, even if she had been accepted into the Academy... sort of. Regardless, as she took aim at the Vulture and let a volley of lasers fly - there was a subconscious part of her secretly hoping that the Force was with her. [1d20+8] => [8,8] = (16) (784) Ferrago: "Wow. Thanks." (653) ShadowDragon8685: And... It is!! Hit! (784) Ferrago: "It's not like we're in a life-threatening situation or anything. Damn kid..." (666) Niari: [7d10+1d6*2] => [4,7,2,1,1,3,10,12] = (40) (653) ShadowDragon8685: "This ship is ancient! I was trying to angle the deflector shields," Kya angrily responses. (669) Jen Vadur: (Gimme a sec... have to go do shit!) (666) Niari: (er. (666) Niari: (That math is off. It only multiplied the last one.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You need to use parenthesis. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It goes by PEMDAS (653) ShadowDragon8685: hold on, I'll calculate the whole thing. (666) Niari: ([(4+7+2+1+1+3+10)*2+12] => 68 (666) Niari: (Yeah, realized that after the fact.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You forgot to add 1/2 your character level. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Which also goes before the multiplier. (666) Niari: [68+2] => 70 (653) ShadowDragon8685: So th's 72 HP of damage. (666) Niari: [70+2] => 72 (666) Niari: (I fail.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: [60-(72-10)] => -2 (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Reek's heavy cannon lets out a roar above your head as it discharges, sending a demi-turbolaser bolt flying through the air. The poor widdle Vulture doesn't stand a chance - caught in the middle, it simply explodes into a shower of droid parts. (669) Jen Vadur: (Back) (666) Niari: Niari let out a sharp exhale, releasing the breath she didn't even realize she was holding. "See? Warming up the guns." (666) Niari: "And... oh no," she groans realizing that attacking the Vulture brought the Reek closer to the turret. (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Good shot, keep up the good work," the pilot of the transport calls out. "I need clear airspace to put this nerf through!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Vulture soars towards the Phoenix Sunrise, lining up a shot with it's laser cannon and firing. (653) ShadowDragon8685: [1d20+7] => [16,7] = (23) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Damn Nico for having an unfinished sheet. I'll have to nag him about that. (784) Ferrago: Unfinished? Ohohoho. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Well, the one on the Wiki. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, since he doesn't have the Vehicular Combat feat, he can't roll to negate that. (653) ShadowDragon8685: So... Ouch. (653) ShadowDragon8685: [3d10x2] => 3d10x2 (653) ShadowDragon8685: [3d10*2] => 48 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ergh, 4d10x2, sorry. (653) ShadowDragon8685: [1d10*2] => 12 (653) ShadowDragon8685: You have SR 40 and DR 15, so that's not so bad. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Phoenix takes a mere 10 HP damage and the shields drop by 5, which T3-TT will restore. (653) ShadowDragon8685: On the turret's HUD, you see Kya's panicked writing, "He's trying to get a missile lock! Shoot him down! SHOOT HIM DOWN!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: She 'helpfully' marks the Vulture's HUD icon as an emergency priority. (784) Ferrago: Maybe I should pilot, after all... (784) Ferrago: Nahh. (653) ShadowDragon8685: The turrets will shoot at the Reek and the Phoenix: [1d20+3-5] => [5,3,-5] = (3) [1d20+3-5] => [15,3,-5] = (13) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Wow. That gun turret actually hits the Phoenix. (666) Niari: (Are there more ships in the hangar?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: [4d10*2] => 46 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Let's put it to you this way. (653) ShadowDragon8685: A Vulture starfighter will spawn two rounds after you killed the last one to exit the hangar until you drop a proton torpedo into them. (666) Niari: (That's what I figured.) (666) Niari: "Jen, if you take out the hangar - I'll focus on the turret!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: [35+15] => 50 (669) Jen Vadur: "Will do Niari, I'll just have to speed up my ship." (653) ShadowDragon8685: Wait, yeah... (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Phoenix rocks as the turret's laser blasts skip off her hull, the shields dropping, but failing to penetrate. "That one hit armor, don't worry about the turret, kill the fighter," Kya prints onto your screen, Morco. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Order of Battle: Jen: 27 Ferrago: 26 Niari: 21 Droid Starfighters: 18 Transport: 0 Turrets: 0 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Jen, you're up again. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Can you actually reach the hangar's entrances? (669) Jen Vadur: (How much does the ship speed up with again?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: I mean, look at the SIZE of those hangar doors, if the walls are that thick, a proton torpedo on the wall probably won't do much. (653) ShadowDragon8685: But inside... (669) Jen Vadur: (I wanna try...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Your base speed is 4. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You can make a Pilot check to increase the speed as a Swift Action. (653) ShadowDragon8685: If you hit DC 20, you increase speed by 1, and +1 for every 5 after that. (653) ShadowDragon8685: of course, if you completely fail to hit DC 20, your ship goes down on the condition track... (669) Jen Vadur: (Huh, oh my word the chances are really slim for a good roll then...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: What's your pilot mod? (669) Jen Vadur: (No way, I'd rather move at normal speed) ** (669) Jen Vadur moves her ship closer to the Reek for covering fire, if she can find anything to hit in these conditions ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: Well, you can shoot at that turret. (653) ShadowDragon8685: 6 squares away, you might well hit it. ** (669) Jen Vadur fires at the turret! ** (669) Jen Vadur: (Long range right?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Yep. (669) Jen Vadur: Lasers [1d20] => [5] = (5) (669) Jen Vadur: (Dang it!) ** (669) Jen Vadur seems to have fire at a little bug next to the turret ** (877) Captain Sinith (enter): 01:35 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Poor bug. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago? (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Phoenix is right next to a Vulture starfighter at the beginning of it's round. A Culture which is attempting to get a missile lock. (653) ShadowDragon8685: You might find it expedient to blow him away before that happens. (784) Ferrago: Alright... (784) Ferrago: "I'll take care of it, calm down." (784) Ferrago: (one sec) (784) Ferrago: (sorry) (877) Captain Sinith (exit): 01:38 (784) Ferrago: Ferrago aims more carefully at the Vulture this time. He can't afford to miss. (784) Ferrago: (sorry about that delay) (784) Ferrago: [1d20+4] => [18,4] = (22) (784) Ferrago: [6d10+2] => [8,10,6,4,7,10,2] = (47) (784) Ferrago: [1d6] => [6] = (6) (784) Ferrago: 106. (666) Niari: (Seriously. Ouch.) (669) Jen Vadur: (Good ouch!) (784) Ferrago: (oh, I also misrolled) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Phoenix's repeating, chattering quadlaser cannons send stream after stream of fire flying into the Vulture's frame, shredding it to ribbons and sending it's debries flying into the massive river (784) Ferrago: (had the modifier from before, but it was much closer this time so I forgot to remove the range penalty) (784) Ferrago: "There, see? Nothing to worry about, kid. Now can I get you a ladder, so you can get off my back?" (666) Niari: "Alright then," Niari muses, "I guess we're taking out the hangar, Morco." The pilot swoops down and to the hangar bay opening, as the Lethan Twi'lek releases a proton torpedo into it. [1d20+8] => [10,8] = (18) (666) Niari: (Will spend a FP if necessary.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: It's a building. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It hasn't got a huge Reflex Defense. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, you earned a Stunt 1 with that. (666) Niari: Proton Torpedo: [(9d10+1d6+2] => (9d10+1d6+2*2] (666) Niari: Proton Torpedo: [(9d10+1d6+2)] => [10,4,5,5,7,7,10,8,9,1,2] = (68)*2] (666) Niari: (Bah.) (666) Niari: [68*2] => 136 (669) Jen Vadur: (Very nice!) (666) Niari: (Don't know why I can't seem to type up the dice rolls correctly tonight.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Proton Torpedos. Lttle cone, big boom. Did I mention big? Proton Torpedos are nukes, and you've just unleashed one into the hangar. The booming yellow ball of light streaks into the hangar, past the rows and rows of Vulture starfighters hanging on racks, hitting the fuel stores at the back. The resulting explosion waxes the whole fridding hangar, including the starfighter that was on it's way out, in a cataclysmic orgy of destruction. (669) Jen Vadur: "Well done Niari, that'll make things easier for us!" (666) Niari: "Now take out those turrents, Jen..." (653) ShadowDragon8685: No droid starfighters to act, so now it's Turret Time! (653) ShadowDragon8685: The one southerly turret has no line of fire to the Reek, but the northern one does. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It makes a short-ranged shot on the fighter-bomber: [1d20+1] => [6,1] = (7) (653) ShadowDragon8685: And woefully misses. ** (669) Jen Vadur focuses on the closest turret with squinting eyes and fires after moving closer ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: The two turrets next to the eastern hangar make medium-ranged shots at the Phoenix Sunrise: [1d20+3-5] => [14,3,-5] = (12) [1d20+3-5] => [17,3,-5] = (15) (669) Jen Vadur: (No penalty?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: His normal attack is +3. (653) ShadowDragon8685: I mean, I could re-roll +3-2... (669) Jen Vadur: (Oops!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: But since that's more likely to yield a number higher than 7, are you sure? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Goddamn, the Phoenix isn't very lucky tonight, is it? Nico has got to buy the Vehiclular Combat feat. (653) ShadowDragon8685: It takes another two hits: [4d10*2] => 34 and [4d10*2] => 18 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Fortunately, however, the shields absorb both vollies without complaint. "Aren't you glad I angled the deflector shields," Kya asks, as she marks the hangar. "I don't think our guns can cause a catastrophic explosion like the torpedo can, but it can't hurt to try. Take the shot you trust, Ferrago." (653) ShadowDragon8685: Jen, back to you. ** (669) Jen Vadur focuses on the closest turret with squinting eyes and fires after moving closer ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: Short range, -2 (669) Jen Vadur: (Any penalties at this range, none right?) (669) Jen Vadur: (Oh yeah, keep forgetting sorry) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You're not forgetting to add +2 for being a pilot, are you? (669) Jen Vadur: Lasers [1d20+8] => [11,8] = (19) (669) Jen Vadur: (nope) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Hit! Roll it! (669) Jen Vadur: Kaboom [5d10+1d6*2] => [10,6,7,6,7,12] = (48) ** (653) ShadowDragon8685 sighs. ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: You dealt 84 damage, not 48. (669) Jen Vadur: (wrong numbers?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Let me show you something. (669) Jen Vadur: (lol, ok... that's fine with me... what did I do wrong though?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: [10+6+7+6+7+6*2] => 48 versus [(10+6+7+6+7+6)*2] => 84 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Do you understand now? (653) ShadowDragon8685: You have to add the parenthesis to make it multiply the whole thing. You were just multiplying the result of the 1d6 roll. (669) Jen Vadur: (Yeah... tch, damn numbers... got it now thanks!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You were taking 5d10+(1d6*2) when what you're supposed to be taking is (5d10+1d6)*2 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, your green repeating laser bolts handily sink into the turret's weak rear armor as it traverses to shoot at the Reek, frying it out. (669) Jen Vadur: (Noted!) (669) Jen Vadur: (Nice!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Have any of you ever killed a capital starship before? Their shields are thick, their hulls are vast. Unless you're firing turbolaser batteries, you can't kill a starship by just pounding on the hull. You have to think smart, but it can be done. You have to get close, almost to the hull, and let go with a torpedo into an important system. It's not nessessary to shatter a capital starship, just disable it and they tend to blow up anyway." (653) ShadowDragon8685: "We don't need to kill that big turbolaser carrier, we just need to knock out it's turbolaser and laser cannon emplacements!" (784) Ferrago: "Don't think so, huh? Well, watch this." Ferrago takes his hands off the controls, spits on each one in turn, then rubs his palms together and takes hold of the controls again. "Bring us in, Nico." (653) ShadowDragon8685: Stunt 1. Nico brings the Phoenix Sunrise in, staring at the gaping maw of the hangar, with a starfighter on the launch track, lifting into the air on it's repulsorlifts. (784) Ferrago: As the Phoenix swoops toward the building, Ferrago takes a deep breath. Even across the distance between him and the building, he can sense the weakest points in its structure, places he can hit to hopefully collapse the entire thing. He quickly moves his reticule to the biggest one and fires off a precise burst of blaster fire in an attempt to bring the whole thing down. (Using my Devastating Hit maneuver.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Nevermind, upgrade that to Stunt 2. (784) Ferrago: [1d20+9] => [9,9] = (18) (784) Ferrago: [1d6] => [2] = (2) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Easily hit. (784) Ferrago: [1d6] => [1] = (1) (784) Ferrago: (21...) (784) Ferrago: (What's the building's ref?) (784) Ferrago: (It determine's the devastating hit's damage.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Um, five. (784) Ferrago: (it's fucked.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Roll it. (669) Jen Vadur: (Haha!) (784) Ferrago: (I'm guessing the three extra damage dice come after multiplication rather than before.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Um, no. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Whenever you're in a starship, everything goes before multiplication. (784) Ferrago: (Cool.) (784) Ferrago: [9d10+2] => [8,5,7,6,9,6,10,4,6,2] = (63) (653) ShadowDragon8685: ... Yeah, it's fucked. (784) Ferrago: [1d6] => [2] = (2) (784) Ferrago: 130. (669) Jen Vadur: (Yeah man!) (784) Ferrago: "Yeeehaw!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: The building's structure groans and greaks, then fractures. A falling slab piledrives the emerging starfighter into the concussion missile stockpiles, and the whole thing goes up with a shockwave that sends you biting into your turret chair's restraints as the Phoenix jars sharply upwards and away. (669) Jen Vadur: "Good hit Ferrago!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: Niari? (653) ShadowDragon8685: You're up. (666) Niari: "Whoa," Niari manages as Morco swings the Reek around and away from the flaming wreckage of the hangar. Caught slightly off guard by the sudden move, she almost doesn't see the turret flash on her sensors. Luckily, however, she manages to swing the guns around in time and takes aim - letting loose a volley with the heavy cannon. [1d20+8] => [19,8] = (27) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Stunt 1, not that you need it. (666) Niari: Damage: [(7d10+1d6)*2] => 106 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ka. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Boom. (669) Jen Vadur: (Toast!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The heavy turret's demi-turbolaser blast roars directly down the twin barrels of the laser cannon, hitting right between them and causing the turret to detonate, burning merrily. (669) Jen Vadur: "These defensive turrets aren't really all that defensive are they?" (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Gakarra don' like to pay out money she don't got to pay out, mon. I swam 'dis far south, saw de controls, dey jus' got her ordinary mekaneeks firin' dem." (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Dey're not good at firin' 'dem." (666) Niari: "I imagine she's going to make some changes in her organization after this." (669) Jen Vadur: "That definitely counts in our favour." (653) ShadowDragon8685: Your only answer to that is loud Gungan dark-humor chuckling. (669) Jen Vadur: "I wish I could make some changes to her organisation." (653) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, no droi starfighters on the map now. (653) ShadowDragon8685: "We can't go any further south until you take out that turbolaser emplacement! It'll shred this transport in a hit or two," Panaka comms you. "Take it out, we need to fly." (669) Jen Vadur: "On it!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: Now, to perform the maneouver Panaka suggested, you have to deliberately risk and avoid a collision. (669) Jen Vadur: (Can't I just move in and try to blast it with my lasers?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: For the guns on the defensive emplacement? (653) ShadowDragon8685: You can, but it has SR 75 and DR 15. (653) ShadowDragon8685: And 720 hit points. (653) ShadowDragon8685: An individual emplacement has only 72, however, and DR 15 if you fly in under the shield. (669) Jen Vadur: (Erf sorry no, I meant the turret on the other island...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Oh, the turret? Yeah, no need to provoke a colission with that. (666) Niari: "Working on it," Niari responds to Panaka a little weary from the constant fighting of this day. (669) Jen Vadur: (So can I do my turn then? Or not yet?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Order of Battle: Jen: 27 Ferrago: 26 Niari: 21 Droid Starfighters: 18 Transport: 0 Turrets: 0 (653) ShadowDragon8685: I just need to resolve the turret attacks. (666) Niari: "Jen, if you take out that turret - I think Morco and I might be able to take out the turbolasers." (653) ShadowDragon8685: The two turrets make Short-ranged attacks on the Phoenix Sunrise, whose shields stand now at 40 (653) ShadowDragon8685: [1d20+3-2] => [11,3,-2] = (12) [1d20+3-2] => [12,3,-2] = (13) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Goddamn, those droids are surprisingly lucky. (653) ShadowDragon8685: T3-TT squeals angrily and restores shields as Kya implores you to wipe out the turrets, Ferrago. Jen, it's your turn. (784) Ferrago: (Is it really important to wipe out the turrets? If I just get out of range, they're not likely to hit me, nor are they anywhere near the transport.) (784) Ferrago: (oh, wait) ** (669) Jen Vadur flies over to the middle island in a diving roll, firing at the almost hidden turret! ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: Well, there's a point. Up to you, of course. (784) Ferrago: (they kind of are near the transport) (784) Ferrago: (it moved when I wasn't looking :P) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Stunt 1, Jen. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, you're at medium range, so a -5 penaly. (653) ShadowDragon8685: But you also earned an FP to apply to that roll. (669) Jen Vadur: (Crappy crap...) (669) Jen Vadur: (So 1d6?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You need a 3 or better. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Roll 1d6. (669) Jen Vadur: [1d6] => [3] = (3) (669) Jen Vadur: (Yay!) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Hit! [(5d10+1d6)*2] => 52 (669) Jen Vadur: (Yeah that thing!) (669) Jen Vadur: (My eyes are fucing me around...!!) (669) Jen Vadur: (Fucking* you see) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You keep forgetting to add your class bonus to damage. It was 56 damage, soaked by armor to 32. The turret remains operational, sadly. (653) ShadowDragon8685: err, to 36. (653) ShadowDragon8685: But it moves down a step, which is something. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago, you're up. (669) Jen Vadur: (Damn ok) (784) Ferrago: ( (784) Ferrago: (Well, that was weird.) (784) Ferrago: (Anyway. If I just speed away, the transport isn't going to veer toward those two turrets, right?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Well, it was GOING to... (653) ShadowDragon8685: But I guess they'd turn around if you just put the gas on. (784) Ferrago: (Hrrm, alright. In that case...) (784) Ferrago: (Oh, okay.) (784) Ferrago: "We don't need to deal with these two, just stay out of range. Somebody tell the transport to go around the other side." (784) Ferrago: "Meanwhile, let's deal with this little bastard..." (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Sending transmission," Kya replies, as you turn and fly away to deal with the wee bastard. (784) Ferrago: Ferrago locks onto the turret as the Phoenix speeds toward it, and fires. The turret was drawing a bead on the N1 starfighter, but your twin turbolasers blast it into smoke and showering sparks. (653) ShadowDragon8685: err, quad laser cannon. (669) Jen Vadur: (Good) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The transport swings 'round, coming to a stop on repulsorlifts. "We can't go any further until you destroy that turbolaser emplacement!" (666) Niari: "Alright," Niari looks up where Morco is sitting, "Let's do this, yeah?" With a boost of speed - the pilot rockets the Reek suicidally close to the turbolaser emplacement, dodging and weaving as it avoids the firing from the batteries on the hovering building. "Keep... it... still!" Niari growls as she jerks her targetting system around in an attempt to line up the proton torpedos with the image in the HUD. "Almost... have it... there!" she whispers to herself - her thumb releasing the proton torpedos at the guns as the Reek dives through the shields. Attack: [1d20+8] => [7,8] = (15) (Spending my temporary DP to attack out of turn.) And operating on instinct, or by the will of the Force, Niari triggers a second torpedo blindly at where she thought she saw a glimpse of the shield generators, before yelling into her comlink "PULL UP!" [1d20+8] => [15,8] = (23) And at the last moment, just before the Reek slams into one of the towers, Morco does just that, yanking back on his stick and sending the Reek soaring up into the air. (666) Niari: (And I'll spend a FP if necessary on any of those rolls.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: o.0 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Uh, no need. In fact, I'd call that a Stunt 3! (653) ShadowDragon8685: Your proton torpedoes find their marks all right, roll damage! (666) Niari: (...well.) (669) Jen Vadur: (Wow!) (666) Niari: Torpedo vs. Turbolasers: [(9d10+1d6+2)*2] => 126 Torpedo vs. Shields [(9d10+1d6+2)*2] => 82 (666) Niari: (Too bad you can't use DP to critical with starship weapons...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Uh, you can. It's just that I changed critical hits, remember? (666) Niari: (ohh... I forgot about that. Crap.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The turbolaser emplacement goes ka-fucking-boom, but the torpedo on the shield generator must have been a little spotty: it detonates, but not nearly as powerfully as the first one, which sends the turbolaser battery's cannons simply flying every which way. (784) Ferrago: (Wow. The first two third-tier stunts of the campaign, and in the same session. You're on a roll, there, aren't ya?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: [82-15] => 67 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Want to use your other DP to act out ot turn again and give it some hell from the laser cannon turret before you're out of the shields? (666) Niari: Even as Morco takes the ship up, Niari swivels the heavy cannons around and locks onto the flaming (but still opperational) shield generator - gritting her teeth against the rapidly increasing G-Forces... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Now is the time to clusterfuck this platform if ever there was one. Morco and Niari's staggeringly awesome bombing run have opened the way to much, much ownage being laid down. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago? You're not gonna let the girls have all the fun, are you? (784) Ferrago: I think not. (784) Ferrago: So that very big turret down there is vulnerable, yes? (653) ShadowDragon8685: The very big turret is already GONE. (666) Niari: "Sorry to disappoint, but when we land, I'm going to sleep for the next two days." ** (669) Jen Vadur feels the same way ** (784) Ferrago: "Sure, clean that up for me and let's get out of here." (666) Niari: "Wha," she grunts, "Oh... Right. Focus..." She narrows her eyes and focuses on the platform as Morco brings the Reek around. [1d20+8] => [17,8] = (25) (666) Niari: (Er, the turret.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Hey 'mon," Jaz-Am murrs, "I be thinkin' dis platform be bombad expensive. It be a shame it be so scarred up now, but be even more 'a shame if de bitch-slug have to fish it from de bottom o' de bay, you catchin' meesa drift?" (666) Niari: (My minimum damage would take the turret out, so...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: roll it anyway, I'm tracking the damage dealt to the platform as a whole. (666) Niari: [(7d10+1d6+2)*2] => 88 (669) Jen Vadur: "Yes Jaz-Am, I think we all agree with you on that!" (653) ShadowDragon8685: [88-15] => 73 (784) Ferrago: Ferrago laughs. "Jen, Niari, you still got torpedos?" (653) ShadowDragon8685: Order of Battle: Jen: 27 Ferrago: 26 Niari: 21 Droid Starfighters: 18 Transport: 0 Turrets: 0 Platform: 0 [720-215-29-103-63-73] => 237 Turbolaser: gone Shields: gone Left Laser Cannons: gone Right Laser Cannons: gone (669) Jen Vadur: "I sure do, for a rainy day..." (666) Niari: "One more, here. Saving it just in case we run into any more heavy resistance..." (784) Ferrago: "Well, it's raining like a bitch if you hadn't noticed." (669) Jen Vadur: "Luckily it's not raining droids anymore... or is it, hehe" (653) ShadowDragon8685: "I bet there's so many holes in that thing alreadythat if you blow out the repulsorlifts she'd drop like a stone. The reactor's got to be so overloaded that another feedback would shut it down," Panaka advises as the transport moves close and takes another pot-shot. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Transport's guns: [1d20+1] => [17,1] = (18) Damage: [4d10*2] => 24 (666) Niari: "Jen, Ferrago - you guys want to take care of it?" (653) ShadowDragon8685: [24-15] => 9 (784) Ferrago: "Sure, can't let you have all the fun." (669) Jen Vadur: "I think I'll give Ferrago some time to play in the rubble there." (653) ShadowDragon8685: The engines (being very very important) have twice the HP the other hardpoints had, but still... (666) Niari: "Well," she perks up slightly, "When you put it that way..." (653) ShadowDragon8685: Niari? It's your turn... (666) Niari: (Oh, crap. Sorry.) (666) Niari: Morco swoops the Reek near the bottom of the platform - giving Niari a clear shot at the repulsorlifts. She squints slightly to focus and push away the weariness and lets loose another volley from the heavy cannon. ** (666) Niari found the F9 macro key ** (666) Niari: [1d20+8] => [14,8] = (22) (666) Niari: [(7d10+1d6+2)*2] => 92 (666) Niari: (I didnt realize it was my turn, thought Jen and Ferrago still had a go.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: [92-15] => 77 (669) Jen Vadur: (Well thank goodness it's your turn, you're blowing this thing out of the water right now I think) (653) ShadowDragon8685: ] (653) ShadowDragon8685: [72*2] => 144 (653) ShadowDragon8685: [144-77] => 67 (653) ShadowDragon8685: Sadly not quite, but she blows out half of the repulsorlifts with one shot. The flying building lists heavily; defenseless, it's easy prey for a strafing run by Jen and Morco, even as there are Vulture starfighters gathering behind you for a run. (669) Jen Vadur: (So my turn then?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: No need to bother rolling, the enemy starfighters are too far away, that remaing island gun is no threat. (669) Jen Vadur: (Ok, so what now?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Now, I narrate. (669) Jen Vadur: (And, phew) (669) Jen Vadur: (Groovy) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The two of you ine up a strafing run on the still-struggling repulsorlift platform, sending bolts of crimson and emerald into it as the Reek passes by and the Gallofree Yards GR-75 transport cruises away. Making the best speed the transport can make, you resume formation as the platform behind you sputters, giving one final, valient struggle for lift and then plummeting the thirty meters into the sea; it lands with a colossal splash, fracturing apart and sinking quickly - as it's almost sunk, you see the reactor let go behind you, a brilliant, final bright ball of gold sending a massive water-spout of flame into the sky as the rain lefts up and you soar out over the ocean, away from the range of the guns on Gakarra's battleship and pull up, making orbit. (653) ShadowDragon8685: However, there's a slight problem, perhaps: Jaz-Am's on the wrong ship. "I know I beesen said I'd take ye to me uncle's hide-out and deactive his mekaneeks for ye, but this ship be goin' to meesa home, too. I don't stab dey who done me right in de back, though. I already put de details in your bombad navicomputer, ye don't need me anymore," he says, as the transport and it's escort break orbit, heading for the terminus wherein ships can make the jump to lightspeed. (669) Jen Vadur: "That's fine with us Jaz-Am, you are a worthy ally... we might call on you again someday." (653) ShadowDragon8685: "If ye ever find yerselve on Naboo, come and look me up. I'm goin' fishin' when I get home," he answers with a laugh, and then you hear Panaka. "Can you believe I left Naboo because it was wet and made my joints home? I can't wait to see Theed again. I owe you more than I count, look me up if you're ever on Naboo, too." (653) ShadowDragon8685: So, basically, the transport's going to be directly jumping to the Naboo system, whereas you need to jump to find Jin-Ol Ashim's pirate base so you can find his OTHER pirate base... (669) Jen Vadur: "That we will definitely do, war veterans are also a great ally!" (669) Jen Vadur: (Work work work, life of a Jedi) (653) ShadowDragon8685: "Not half as great as Jedi, but I'm honored; and grateful you came." ** (669) Jen Vadur humbly nods ** (653) ShadowDragon8685: Hey now... It's not like exploring a base whose battle droids are deactivated and looting it's stores and computers is very hard, is it? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, let's see... I need to calculate the CL. (669) Jen Vadur: lol (653) ShadowDragon8685: The gun turrets were retard-babies. CL 2 at most. The hangars were a bit dangerous, I'll call them CL 9. Not going to count the starfighters since they were spawned by the hangar. And the defense platform was a retardized version of a Nebulon-B frigate, call it 1/2 a Neb-B. (666) Niari: I believe the CL is: "Enough to get Niari to level 6." (669) Jen Vadur: Haha! (669) Jen Vadur: Let's hope so (653) ShadowDragon8685: Let's see... (653) ShadowDragon8685: Panaka contributed his Assault Tactics talent, but Jaz-Am didn't do anything. So it'll be a four-way split between you guys and Panaka - and Panaka gets full XP for the high threat of those hangars. (653) ShadowDragon8685: [400*7+1800*2+1600] => 8000 (669) Jen Vadur: All's fair in... war (653) ShadowDragon8685: [8000/4] => 2000 (666) Niari: &%*($)%# (666) Niari: 926 short. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Lemme guess, 3 XP short? (784) Ferrago: Well, I level. (669) Jen Vadur: Me too (666) Niari: *shakes fist at Ferrago* (653) ShadowDragon8685: Wait... (784) Ferrago: But I only needed 540 XP, and I got 2,000. (653) ShadowDragon8685: en, how did you level if Niari didn't? (669) Jen Vadur: Maybe Niari forgot her free 1000xp from last week... (666) Niari: What's your total, Jen? (666) Niari: O.o (666) Niari: Maybe I didn't include that. (653) ShadowDragon8685: That sounds like the culprit. (669) Jen Vadur: 15074 with today's game (653) ShadowDragon8685: yeah, you forgot to add your thousand. (666) Niari: Right, you need 16k to level. (666) Niari: Unless Im off. (666) Niari: 15074 is what I have. (669) Jen Vadur: Why do you need 16k? (784) Ferrago: Mine is 16,460... I assume that's from being around since the beginning and for showing up every session (666) Niari: ....I don't know. (666) Niari: Because I fail at math. (666) Niari: I only need 15k. (784) Ferrago: Including the ones with only me and Nico, and only me, Morco, and Nico (669) Jen Vadur: lol (669) Jen Vadur: I think so yeah (666) Niari: D'oh. (666) Niari: Level! (669) Jen Vadur: Yes! (784) Ferrago: Let's see, I'm level 6... taking another Scoundrel level, that's a Scoundrel talent I'll have to decide on... (784) Ferrago: Spending on 6th-level feat on Force Training, ahhhhhh (666) Niari: Im taking dual weapon fighting feats. (666) Niari: ...now I just need to find another lightsaber. (784) Ferrago: Finally taking Surge (669) Jen Vadur: Hehe yeah... sounds kewl, but I'll stay with my one saber... classic (653) ShadowDragon8685: Finding one in the cockpit... That won't be easy. :P (666) Niari: Here's a question. Isn't dual weapon fighting kind of... sith-y? (653) ShadowDragon8685: Um, no? (784) Ferrago: Nahh. (669) Jen Vadur: I don't think so either (666) Niari: I seem to recall something in KotOR about it being a style dark-siders tend to use. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Oh, and I thought I ought to mention this. (784) Ferrago: I've seen Jedi do it more. (669) Jen Vadur: Just plain kewl (666) Niari: Since its foused more towards damage... (784) Ferrago: You're thinking of the double-bladed saber. (669) Jen Vadur: I remember that too Niari (784) Ferrago: Like what Maul used. (784) Ferrago: Hmmm... I need to decide what prestige class I want to take for my 8th level before I start taking Jedi Knight. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Before you make the Jump to Lightspeed, Gakarra the Hutt calls to inform you all that you are all dead sentients flying, and that your tanned hides will make her a cloak. (784) Ferrago: Pleasant. (669) Jen Vadur: Haha, I'll come back for her... when I have an army I think (669) Jen Vadur: That thing really irritates me (653) ShadowDragon8685: Amusingly enough, she has no idea who you actually are, of course... However, you might want to look into getting a new transponder for the Phoenix Sunrise and your starfighters. ** (669) Jen Vadur rants something back to Gakarra in Huttese about not seeing her for the last time ** (666) Niari: Well, maybe she'll find out who Niari is and save the Lethan the trouble of doing it herself. (669) Jen Vadur: Hehe (784) Ferrago: I'll take Telekinetic Savant as my talent, since all of my powers so far have been telekinetic (except Surge) (653) ShadowDragon8685: The Hutt spared the bandwidth to make it a video call. The surprise and shock at not only being understood but understood and spoken back to in such a manner is clearly overwhelming to the Hutt. She breaks down into a tirade of vulgarity that would make the crassest Toydarian tradesman blush. (784) Ferrago: Now to think of another telekinetic talent to take... (784) Ferrago: er, power (669) Jen Vadur: roflol! (666) Niari: (Which do you have, Ferrago?) (784) Ferrago: (Force Grip, Force Shield, and Move Object) (653) ShadowDragon8685: She illustrates her fury with you by ripping a brass 3P0 unit off his feet and biting off his head, spitting it at the camera and knocking it out in a burst of static. (784) Ferrago: Oh my. (669) Jen Vadur: LOL, dumb slug! (666) Niari: (Force Grip maybe? Grip it to hold it, then shoot it full of holes?) (653) ShadowDragon8685: You've good and pissed her off. (666) Niari: (Oh nevermind, you've got it. :P) (784) Ferrago: (Maybe Force Whirlwind...) (653) ShadowDragon8685: Hard to go wrong with Slam, but... I need to write up rules for Telekinesis as a Power. (669) Jen Vadur: Great game guys! I probably have to head off to bed... students are coming in about 5 hours, bleh! (666) Niari: Repulse is kind of nice... (666) Niari: Night, Jen. (784) Ferrago: Yeah, you really should get to bed. G'night! (653) ShadowDragon8685: Sorry, heh. It was pretty damn combat heavy, but I hope you guys enjoyed it? (784) Ferrago: Thanks for sticking around so long! (666) Niari: (Scratch that, Repulse isn't that cool.) (653) ShadowDragon8685: And hey, you managed even to get some swag! (666) Niari: Aye, thanks for sticking around Jen! (784) Ferrago: (Maybe kinetic combat...) (669) Jen Vadur: Sleep tight guys, no problem... love this game! (653) ShadowDragon8685: Now you have more than enough rides for everyone. (666) Niari: Honestly I was really fustrated at the beginning because someone kept holding the rest of us back. Again. But once he left, the game turned into hella fun. (784) Ferrago: One of those walkers is so very mine. (784) Ferrago: Yeah, Nico's really become sluggish. It's disappointing. (784) Ferrago: He was fun to play with that session when it was just me and him. (666) Niari: It is, he's a nice guy. (669) Jen Vadur: Lol, he sounds like he's having a rough time for some reason... (666) Niari: But right now he's just dragging everyone down. (653) ShadowDragon8685: Don't worry, I'm going to whip him into shape. He fucked up because he hadn't read the last session log and had no idea what was going on. (669) Jen Vadur: That's true (784) Ferrago: Oh, yeah, that'll do that. (669) Jen Vadur: Ah, the answer revealed (653) ShadowDragon8685: Also, part of it might have been that his jnew job yanked his chain around today. (669) Jen Vadur: Anyway, cheers for real now! (784) Ferrago: Night! (653) ShadowDragon8685: Night. Hope you all had fun. (669) Jen Vadur: Disconnecting from server... (669) Jen Vadur (exit): 03:53 (784) Ferrago: We did. (666) Niari: I dunno, the two hours at the beginning of the session where he couldn't grasp the pretty simple layout was just... annoying.
