William Lillico (c.1848- 26 March 1929) was a businessman and local politician. Born in Fife, Scotland, in 1865 Lillico was apprenticed to William Lock, corn chandler of Church Street, Croydon. In 1881 Lock retired and passed the business to Lillico: it continues to exist today as William Lillico & Son Limited. A long-serving alderman on Croydon Corporation, he served as Mayor of Croydon in 1905-06. He was a passenger on board the S.S. Delhi when the ship was wrecked on the coast of Morocco in December 1911. From 1902 he owned Coombe Hill House (now Ruskin House) , where he died, aged 81.
