The Armature-class Assault Droid was a new model that was designated as the first of the next wave of droids manufactured by Cylon Cybernetics. The initial design began shortly after the Battle of Taylon involving the Cylon Imperium, and the first prototypes were ready for testing shortly after the Sith-Cylon War. Darth Trayus decided to field-test the droids during his attack on Taylon; a test that would prove the droid design ready for combat.

| - The Armature-class Assault Droid was a new model that was designated as the first of the next wave of droids manufactured by Cylon Cybernetics. After the success of the droid in combat, Trayus immediately ordered Cylon Cybernetics to mass-produce them. K471 went a step further and, with the successful test results on his mind, initiated the Cybrid program. The Armature-class Assault Droid remained in service, despite its successor's introduction to the battlefield, and became a standalone product, rather than its original intention of a prototype.
