Patrick Monaghan (1691-) was an Irish Assassin and pirate captain during the Golden Age of Piracy. Once a crewman on the Jackdaw, Patrick was given his own ship to captain (a brig-frigate hybrid) alongside his best friend, Robert Krick. Renaming the ship the 'Nightingale', Patrick painted the entirety of the ship black and became known as a 'night attacker', engaging ships in the darkest points of night with the goal of intimidating the British and Spanish and making the Assassins seem more dangerous than they really were.
