| - Pop Quiz Hotshot is a game show hosted by the Nostalgia Critic. Contestants are "kidnapped" by General Anesthetic (played by Fard Muhammad) as the Critic's new "friends". They are forced to answer pop culture-related questions, accumulating points throughout rounds. The person with the most points at the end is given the chance to face off against the Critic for a shot at $100. If they lose, the money is added to the next episode's earnings.

| - Pop Quiz Hotshot is a game show hosted by the Nostalgia Critic. Contestants are "kidnapped" by General Anesthetic (played by Fard Muhammad) as the Critic's new "friends". They are forced to answer pop culture-related questions, accumulating points throughout rounds. The person with the most points at the end is given the chance to face off against the Critic for a shot at $100. If they lose, the money is added to the next episode's earnings. The pilot was originally hosted by Brad Jones as The Cinema Snob, essentially filling the role the Critic would later have. Tamara Chambers also appeared as the side character Ms. Stockholm. The pilot is notable at having been refilmed several times because of technical difficulties and the studio flooding. Due to the pilot's lackluster reception, the show was retooled for the second episode with the Critic as host and Ms. Stockholm removed completely.

Well, now that I have power, I can take my friends by force. With my new pal General Anesthetic, I can kidnap all the friends I want and force them to answer questions on my "Saved By the Bell"-style set. There will be laughs, trivia, those disturbing cartoons that give you night tremors...but most of all, there will be fun. The laughter and joy will last however long I want. Heads up, America, for this is "Pop Quiz Hotshot"!" Pop Quiz Hotshot is a game show saluting nostalgic quotes and somewhat a satire of the genre a la The Cheap Show. Two contestants face off, with the victor facing the Nostalgia Critic for a "fabulous prize".
