WACI-TV is a commercial-free television station located in Atlanta, Georgia and it broadcasts on channel 8, which began broadcasting in June 1971 after GPTV's flagship station and PBS affiliate WGTV moved to channel 4. It is affiliated with both Treehouse TV and CBeebies, and is owned by KIVO Television Group, since it is licensed to Athens, Georgia and serves the Atlanta area. Originally the station was known as WTAI-TV until early-1990, and was owned by Taito until late-August 1989 and Acclaim Entertainment until 2004 of which Capcom purchased the station and keeping their call letters.
