- A devout is a person who is completely devoted to their faith in a higher power, or powers. Though this doesn't always have to be an actual being, or beings, it is usually something greater than their world. Devouts can be any faith, and any personality. There are easily just as many evil devouts as good in the world. Some devouts preech their faith, some just try and save others. What ever their motivation, they go on, carrying out their god's will.
- Although it does not have the marksman promotion that other Assassins have, the Devout offers a way to convert recon units into disciple units. This allows disciple units to have several useful promotions, including Mobility II. The Devout also has Life I, which means that (in addition to being able to cast Sanctify) disciple units upgraded from Devouts have access to Destroy Undead and Resurrection.

| - Many warriors are devoutedly dutiful in their responsibilities, their loyality is never in question and they never fail in their obligations.
- Type of Feat: Character history Prerequisite: Wisdom 10+, chosen only during character creation phase. Specifics: You have always had strong faith and it's obvious to everyone around you. Your beliefs give you great mental strength, but you can be stubborn and hot-headed in conversations You gain +1 to Concentration and Will saving throws, but suffer -1 to Bluff and Diplomacy. Use: Automatic. Note: You can be a Faithless Devout, even though that makes little sense.
In return for their devotion, a devout is granted the use of Divine Magic. Divine magic, in the Devout's case, is magic that is product of faith in, or blessing from, a higher power. The devout can channel their dieties power through them, creating marvelous effects. Divine magic wielded by a Devout is generally based around Support of allies and carrying out their god's will. Even though the Devout is based around being supportive, that doesn't mean they are without offensive capibility. But the nature of the Devout is a shepherd, and thus he must tend to his flock.
- The Devout was a battle cruiser in the Republic Navy during the years of the Clone Wars. Along with the Reliant, it was sent to the Cularin system to enforce the Emergency Powers Act after the Almas Academy engaged the Right of Denial.
Because Devouts can enter all enemy territory even if you have no agreements, a Devout upgraded from a Nightwatch can spread Council of Esus easily, which is very useful if you have the CoE holy city and the Nox Noctis wonder.
