Sarn was a Human male admiral in the Imperial Navy who commanded the Super Star Destroyer Terror around 3 ABY. The Terror was requisitioned by Grand Admiral Martio Batch to guard the development of the Galactic Empire's new cloaked starfighter, the TIE Phantom—a project Sarn hoped would help him to win Emperor Palpatine's favor. During an inspection by the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader, two Rebel agents, Rookie One and Ru Murleen, infiltrated the Terror and destroyed it along with the TIE Phantom production facility on Imdaar Alpha. Vader escaped the Terror but executed Sarn for his failure before leaving.

- Admiral Sarn was an officer in the Imperial Navy who commanded the fleet of the Quiberon sector.
- Sarn was the Chief Medical Officer on the USS Soval as of May 2376. Sarn recommended Commander Jeffrey Thorpe undergo Vulcan neural pressure administered by Chief Engineer T'Shanir. (Dark Territory)
- Sarn was a Federation colony world. In late 2365 or early 2366, the USS Grissom was ordered to Sarn to assist in repairing damage to the colony's fusion reactor. The mission team consisted of first officer Christine Parsons, chief of security Cray, science officer Chu'lak, and assistant chief engineer Katerina Mueller. Unfortunately, the core exploded during the course of the mission. While Parsons and Chu'lak both agreed that there was no way the team could have prevented this accident, Cray placed the blame on Mueller. This incident led to a great deal of enmity between the two officers throughout the rest of their service together. (NF short story: "Performance Appraisal")
