The Spanish Civil War was a conflict between the Nationalist Government of Spain versus the Republic of Spain. The war lasted from 1936 to 1939 and millions of civilians and military personnel were killed, either by the war or the flu. The nationalists won the war and Spain remained neutral throughout World War II.
