The Philadelphia and West Chester Turnpike Road Company (incorporated 1848) operated a plank toll road in 1848 between Philadelphia and West Chester, Pennsylvania. In 1895 it was combined with the Philadelphia Castle Rock and West Chester Railway (which had built a steam dummy line and opened it earlier that year), to form the Philadelphia and West Chester Traction Company.
