The Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps (RCAMC) was an administrative corps of the Canadian Army. The Militia Medical Service was established in 1899. The Militia Medical Service was redesignated the Canadian Army Medical Corps in 1904. The Canadian Army Medical Corps was redesignated The Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps on 3 Nov 1919. The crest of the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps consists of a two crossing maple stems and maple leaves with a Kings Crown on top, with the text "Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps" on a ribbon at the bottom. At the centre of the two maple stems is a Rod of Asclepius consisting of a serpent entwined around a staff.
