Strangely the Guard Dog statue is capable of speach. It barks at rapscallions, warning them to back off, before it runs them through with it's marble sword. Perhaps the statue was enchanted by Abdul Alhazred to guard over the hallway containing both his office and his bedroom. The statue is largely non-threatening however, ignoring intruders, not even allerting nearby guards to their presence.
