  • Andara, located deep in the northern Bluerose Mountain Range, east of the Bluerose Sea, was the extremely secret, eternally lightless monastery dedicated to the Black-Winged Lord (otherwise known as Anomander Rake), who was revered by the Tiste Andii population of Bluerose. When the Letherii Empire conquered Bluerose, Andara became the last, hidden refuge of the remaining Bluerose Tiste Andii (some five hundred in number, one hundred of whom were warriors), who self-exiled themselves there. Andara was a fragmented structure made of blackstone, as isolated as a prison. Around it were extensive caves, strangely-shaped chambers, twisting passages, underground chasms and a large, smooth lake of obsidian, where the entire population could congregate. Andara was separated from the outside world by a long, extremely steep passage, whose entryway was hidden in a hard-to-find, refuse-filled crevasse.
