| - Oshil's family learned the hard way that in the Chiss Ascendancy only perfection is rewarded. Though he was a vastly successful archeologist, who'd helped track the growth of the early Ascendancy from Csilla, forming the first Empire during a time when the first pyramids were still new on Yavin 4, Ostoc's albino son was still considered an outcast. The Chaos family could no longer advance among the Ascendancy with an "abomination" on public display. So said Aristocra Nurundo. Ostoc was given a choice. Disappear from public life, resigning as Chief of Antiquities at the Sabosen Institute, or "make the abomination go away before the news of your genetic shortcomings become public knowledge." Seeing the hypocracy of the Ascendancy fully for what it was, Ostoc and Sshir made a fateful decision. Ancient documents found during a dig on the 3rd moon of Mobus pointed to hyperspace routes leading away from known space, across the void, and to planets that contained species other than Chiss. It was a leap of faith, a chance at unparalled discovery that led the scientist and his wife to sell everything they owned and outfit a crusier for their family with years of supplies. So it was that the Chaos family left the world they knew, taking young Oshil with them. For 8 long years the Chaos family wandered. Many new worlds were discovered and cronicled during their sojourn, but the home they sought was not found. That is until they stumbled across an uncharted world in the Unknown Regions. Going to work examining exquisitly perserved ruins of giant pyarmids that resembled those found on many other planets, Dr. Ostoc raised his family in an archeologist paradise, a world empty of sentient life, with undisturbed ruins. Raising their young son on their solo dig, they learned early on to trust young Oshil's instincts. The young boy seemed to know when a passage was unsafe. He seemed to have a knack for finding hidden chambers, treasures and passages. For over a decade, the Chaos family lived in peace. That is until Ostoc took a chance and made contact with the holonet to publish findings about a crypt he'd descovered containing what the natives had called a godking, whose odd, perfectly perserved secptor was still capable of emitting an oddly familiar plasma blade. Two weeks after his fateful broadcast a ship arrived. The now young adult Oshil warned his parents to not make contact with the strangers. It was a warning the elder Chaos' failed to heed. Oshil watched in horror as his father was shot down by aliens demanding to know where "the staff" was. Grabbing his mother, Oshil ducked into the crypts to hide, taking with him the artifact that had cost his father his life. Running from passage to passage, the pirates chased both Oshil and his mother, finally firing on them to make them stop. The shots, however, had the unintended result of causing part of the passageway to collapse. The only survivor was Oshil, though his face is still horribly scarred from the ordeal. Digging his way out, Oshil buried both his parents, then hefting the odd artifact, as well as all his father's surviving research, Oshil took the pirates small ship, setting course for the Yavin system, where he knew resided a group of individuals known to carry weapons that emited blades similar to the one the artifact did...the Jedi.
