Corporal Renato Lacy was a Gear in the Coalition of Ordered Governments who fought during the last years of the Pendulum Wars, during the final weeks of which, he was wounded by Nanikawan artillery. He was soon evacuated to Helsmuth General Hospital, where he healed over the next six weeks. While still recovering, the Locust Horde emerged on E-Day, and managed to convince to doctors to allow him to fight. Quickly outfitted with armor and weapons, he was assigned to Kilo-Seventy Five, which assisted in the evacuation of a local Elementary School. Unfortunately, a pack of Wretches had broken in and slaughtered most of the children and teachers. Upon seeing the bodies of the children, Lacy flew into rage, charging forward to fight the Wretches, only for a Locust grenade trap to detonate, blow
