The Cardassian Ninth Order was a military unit in the Cardassian Guard. The Ninth Order was mainly responsible for deep space patrol and exploration. During the Dominion War many of its assets were reassigned to combat duties. (The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon) Elements of the Ninth Order are known to have participated in the Occupation of Bajor, and maintained at least one ground base on Bajor that was subsequently attacked by Kira Nerys.
