Fun Potential is a numerical representation of the potential, inherent in a given noun or activity, for the enjoyment of that noun or activity. The calculation is made by assessing and grading, on a scale of 1-100, each of the following things: Aesthetic appeal, Health benefits, Long term personal benefit, Short term enlightenment, and Comedic (intentional and not) capacity. These numbers are then compiled into the following formula which accounts for specific component weights: ((3(A+C)^2)+(2(H+L)^2)+20S)/(10(A+H+L+S+C)) The resulting number is what's known as the Fun Potential.

The origin of this formula is unknown. It most likely dates back to the 1600s in Scotland.
