The Truth Island State Forest is home to many species of plants, trees and animals. It is home to 30 bird species, including three native to Truth island and Clymene. The rarest bird presumed to be here is the Eskimo Curlew (Numenius borealis). This small migratory bird was once numerous in North America but is now near-extinct (or extinct). The last confirmed sighting of the birds was in 1962. In Lovia, these birds were documented in the 1940s and the last reported sighting was in 1991.
