Trent Wellesley is the poor relation of the great clan in "Kill the Messenger", utterly dependent on his grandmother and uncles for anything like the lifestyle he feels he deserves. Jeff Dilahunt points Beckett and Castle his way when they start to probe Jeff's association with Olivia Debiasse, a name which has cropped up from ten years ago in association with the recent hit-and-run murder of Caleb Shimansky.

  • Trent Wellesley is the poor relation of the great clan in "Kill the Messenger", utterly dependent on his grandmother and uncles for anything like the lifestyle he feels he deserves. Jeff Dilahunt points Beckett and Castle his way when they start to probe Jeff's association with Olivia Debiasse, a name which has cropped up from ten years ago in association with the recent hit-and-run murder of Caleb Shimansky. Jeff does at least warn his old friend that his name has been dropped, so Trent is far from shocked when the police show up during a spot of tea with Grandmama. Lenanne, whose grasp on reality seemingly comes and goes, believes the detective has come about something important, to whit the theft of her very valuable ring, so Frank Davis, her constant attendant, suggests to Master Trent that he should speak to his new friends elsewhere. Trent makes a hash of disguising his knowledge of Olivia and is pressured into revealing that he saw her with someone else. However, since this someone is a major benefactor, and the source of his funding it seems, Trent is reluctant to name them. He crumbles quite quickly, though, and says that the girl was an object of attention from his Uncle Winston.
