William Eve (1835 - 13 February 1916). A resident of Albion Road, Stoke Newington, Eve practised as a surveyor from premises at 10 Union Court, Old Broad Street in the City of London. He was a member of Stoke Newington Vestry and its successor the Stoke Newington Borough Council, serving as mayor in 1902-03. He died at his home in Stoke Newington, aged 80, and was buried at Highgate Cemetery. For thirty-five years he was a churchwarden of St Mary's new Church, Stoke Newington, and in 1917 a new floor and oak pews were installed in the church in his memory.
