The battlefield is divided into two sections - one of the player and the other of their opponent. Each field has:
* Two columns of monster zones, divided into back and front columns. Monsters can be deployed on the field and buildings as well.
* A graveyard, where dead creatures and other cards are placed.
* A deck, known as the library, from where the player draws cards.
* The hand, from where the player deploys cards.
* The fortune zone, where fortune cards are being played. Only two fortunes can be played per turn.

Between and around the fields, the player can cast some spell and fortune cards that amplify the creatures on the player's and the opponent's side. The creatures can attack a hero directly if the enemy's row in front of the creature is empty. The heroes placed on both sides cannot be changed during the battle.
