Originally MCA lifted the Jimi Hendrix Woodstock material from VHS (see At Woodstock) to DVD. The obscure running order was left intact, stage comments are cut out, there are no extras. At least the audio/video quality is improved compared to the VHS. In 2008 a Blu-Ray DVD version of Live at Woodstock was released. This is basically the same as the 2 DVD Deluxe Edition - but now in high-definition picture quality/size. The Goodman black/white video can now be viewed "picture-in-picture" with the regular performance video. __TOC__

abstract
| - Originally MCA lifted the Jimi Hendrix Woodstock material from VHS (see At Woodstock) to DVD. The obscure running order was left intact, stage comments are cut out, there are no extras. At least the audio/video quality is improved compared to the VHS. In 2005 the Experience Hendrix L.L.C. (a company who now manages and distributes further Jimi Hendrix releases) released the 2 DVD Deluxe Edition which finally contains almost all songs performed at Woodstock - this time even in the correct running order. However, "Master Mind" and "Gypsy Woman", both sung by Larry Lee, are missing. It also contains the documentary "The Road To Woodstock" which features interviews by Jimi Hendrix' band members. The second disc (entitled A Second Look) offers a different perspective for the viewer. The then 22 year old student Albert Goodman shot the film on his black/white camera from a different angle and managed to capture even material that the film crew missed. Additionally disc 2 contains a press conference with Jimi Hendrix held on September 3rd 1969, band members Billy Cox and Larry Lee remember their friendship with Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Kramer's insight as a sound engineer on how the Woodstock festival was recorded. In 2008 a Blu-Ray DVD version of Live at Woodstock was released. This is basically the same as the 2 DVD Deluxe Edition - but now in high-definition picture quality/size. The Goodman black/white video can now be viewed "picture-in-picture" with the regular performance video. __TOC__
