  • Reggie Allan Holden (b. 24 Jan 2585, d. 1 Mar 2559) was an Alorian federal judge. Holden was appointed to the federal bench by President Carla Franco during her 2623-2625 term. Holden earned a BA in political science from Krentori University in 2607 and a JD from Ivy University in 2611. He worked as assistant prosecutor from 2612-2619 and later as lead prosecutor in Sildar City from 2619-2624. In 2624, he was appointed to the federal court. Holden's most famous lower federal court decision came in 2630 when he sentenced communist militant leader Lucien Kanally to life without parole for inciting violence, treason and murder. Kanally had led a violent overthrow of Kurmal provincial governments for three years before being captured and put on trial. Shortly after the trial, Holden noted he would have sentenced Kanally to death if the the option had been available. In 2635, Holden was appointed Chief Justice of the Alorian Supreme Court. In 2641, shortly after taking office, President Pierce Farnsworth attempted to revoke former-President Gene Hamshee's pardon of Kurmal insurrection leader Lucien Kanally. Holden wrote his most famous Supreme Court opinion declaring fellow-MLP member Farnsworth's actions illegal. Farnsworth capitulated to this ruling and instead helped over 700 victim's and their families file a $36 trillion ALO civil lawsuit against Kanally. Kanally did not appear at the proceedings. Upon news of the CPA and Lucien Kannaly packing-up to leave the country in July 2641, Holden handed-down the $36 trillion ALO forefeiture verdict. He retired from the Alorian Supreme Court in 2557 shortly after the national elections. He died at the age of 74 in 2559 when two robbers broke into his house and he was stabbed in the ensuing conflict. One of the men was the boyfriend of his granddaughter, Ellise, who later said the incident was a "robbery gone bad". Both men were caught in 2665 and sentence to life without parole the following year.
