However, the castaways living on the planet's surface, due to their tribal conflicts, were unable to come together to fix a ship and escape. Most shipwrecked spacers chose to live near the Scatter. Those castaways not belonging to any tribe, often insane and dangerous, lived closest to the junkyard.
