abstract
  • The Dorvain General Election, 1874 was held on the 27th May 1874 to elect the Nineteenth Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dorvain. Each of the 125 parliamentary constituencies elected one Member of Parliament to Parliament. The election wasn't particularly memorable, with no significant themes. Edmonson's Royalists put forward a standard conservative and right-wing populist campaign, which managed to appeal to some of the working class. Meanwhile the Democrats under Jason Partridge ran an ineffective negative campaign, trying to highlight Edmonson's flaws. However Edmonson was still popular, thus this tactic failed.
