Silver expected Sonic to shout out, "What?" or "Why didn't you stop her?" or something along those lines. At the very least he expected an angry scream of "Aaaarrgh!' But no. Sonic simply paused for a moment and said, "Well, that explains why you seemed surprised when she lowered her flames." Silver's eyes went wide, and he continued, "I need a more accurate description of these memories of yours." Silver nodded. "Alright." He coated himself in a faint outline of white and shot forward. Sonic watched him shot into the air and flew off towards Angel Island. All at 15000 feet. A Sol Emerald.

Sonic simply paused for a moment and said, "Well, that explains why you seemed surprised when she lowered her flames." Silver's eyes went wide, and he continued, "I need a more accurate description of these memories of yours." Silver sighed and thought. "The memories are distorted, but it's like, I'm standing in burning ruins. Thick black clouds are covering the sun. Blaze is standing before me, facing me, and flames are circling around her. Suddenly, she starts to drift into the sky, her body slowly becoming transparent. She calls something to me, but I can't really make it out. Then she vanishes, and the clouds seem to vanish, letting sun shine down." Sonic thought for a second. "Well, I can't tell you what's running through your mind," he replied, "but I reccomend making sure Zyx's next brag isn't Blaze's head." He turned in the direction of Blaze, who was nothing more than a fiery speck. Silver nodded. "Alright." He coated himself in a faint outline of white and shot forward. Sonic watched him shot into the air and flew off towards Angel Island. Amy, Shadow and Infera were conversing about what to do about the remaining Chaos Emeralds. "Just looking for them in random places doesn't seem to be working," Infera stated. "If we can find the Master Emerald," Shadow said, thinking out loud, "then I'd probably be able to tap into its power and summon, or at least locate, the rest of the Chaos Emeralds. The only problem is, it's hidden as well, and it's power could likely teleport it to any location at random intervals." "That's probably what Zyx meant by 'roaming'," Infera realized. "Anyways, I think we should split up and look for them. What about you, Amy?" She turned to the pink hedgehog to see her looking towards Sonic and Silver. Silver nodded and started to fly off in a psychokinetic blur. Amy started for him, then turned to Sonic... to see he was flying off as well? "Wha... wait up!" she called, breaking into a dash to get some momentum before leaping into the air, soaring after him. Infera held a hand towards her, shouting, "Wait!" But Amy's flight couldn't be met by her flames, and she simply lowered her hand and turned to see Shadow watching after Amy. "What?" he asked. "I am just trying to trace her path should we need her help again." Infera looked at him sideways. "Yeah, and you wanted to make it sound convincing by not using contractions. Would you listen to me?" "I am listening to you," Shadow stated, then turned to her. "What is it you want?" "You're not going for her because Sonic's ticked, are you?" "What!?" Shadow reeled, then stepped forward, face masked in Chaos Energy. "What the hell do you take me for?" Infera coated her hand in flames and brought it up to Shadow's neck. "You were staring after her. On Darcain, you defended her. You're just asking for me to rise Dark Fire again, aren't you?" Shadow formed a Chaos Blade. "Are you threatening me?" The fire in Infera's eyes seemed to darken. "You want a fight, Chaos Boy?" Shadow slashed towards Infera's face, missing her by sheer millimetres. "That's it," he shouted. "Sonic's tales are taller than a Chaos Shot. But if you're going to threaten me, then bring it on, Darkspine!" Blaze was still dashing towards the ruins where she had found the reaper when she heard a shout of, "Blaze! Wait up!" She turned to see the psychokinetic flying towards her, and stopped to allow him to catch up. "What is it, psychokinetic?" she asked harshly. The hedgehog dropped out of his flight and stepped to a stop at her side. "First off, my name is Silver," he stated. "Second off, I'm coming to apologize for my behavior earlier. Look, I don't want Zyx killing you. You came here to defend our universes, right?" Blaze huffed and turned away. "I came here to defend my universe. If defending both is what it takes, than I'll do it, but if not, I honestly couldn't care less." Silver ran up in front of her, stopping her in her tracks. "Look, you're I'm-all-superior tone is really starting to annoy me. Just because you're a princess doesn't mean Zyx finds you as any more trouble than the rest of us. The toughest guy in this universe challenged him. Dead. He looks at half of Mobius. Dead. You try and fight him alone? All he's going to do is cross Sol and Chaos and kick your..." A dark voice called from above, "Watch your language, lest I end your life." Blaze and Silver turned to see the reaper, Zyx, hovering over them, holding his scythe and staring with his Xed eyes. "I never expected to meet you again this early, Blaze," he said, shadows dancing on his tounge as he spoke; then he flipped backwards, landing a bit away from them. Silver's hands glowed, and a white aura surrounded his hand as he called, "What do you want, Zyx?" Zyx held up his hands in surrender; then, realizing his scythe only made it a threat, he dematerialized it. "I'm not here to fight," he stated, then added, "by start. I'm here to make an offer." Blaze ignited one arm and formed a Sol Blade in the other hand. "Forget it," she called. "I'm here to stop the disaster. Not add to it. So you can forget it." She took a battle stance, the flames forming a shield. Zyx laughed, then raised his hands. "Master, come to me. I ask that you show this valiant, yet vain defender the truth of what we can do." There was a flurry of shadows around him that shot forward, wrapping around Blaze. "For once I must agree to the reaper's offer of a second warrior," an eerie voice whispered in her ear. "Your fire makes you an invaluable ally. Although the pyrokinetic hedgehog is capable of flames, hers are drab, usual. But yours... not your Sol arts, but your flames themselves are unique." "What do you mean?" she asked, confused. "I mean that you hold the Flames of Disaster," the voice responded. "You hold an engimatic fire within your body. Do you not want to unleash it? To utilize your true power?" "Back off, dark boy!" a voice shouted, muffled. There was a psychokinetic blast that blasted all around Blaze, sending the darkness flying; yet Blaze herself felt no pain. She raised her head to see the rings on Silver's hands shining powerfully. Zyx cursed, reforming his scythe as the darkness flew into his body. "Dark Master," he called, "lend me a fraction of your power!" He twirled his scythe, then erupted into pure darkness. Silver didn't know what was coming, but he knew it wasn't good. "Back to back!" he called to Blaze, and she quickly spun to find his spine meeting hers as shadows surrounded them. They condensed into several figures around them, each of which formed a scythe. When the darkness sharpened, there were ten reapers surrounding them. "Fear the reaper!" all ten Zyxes shouted, then shot forward. Silver raised his hands, forming a psychokinetic field around him and Blaze that defended against the reapers. Blaze closed her eyes, letting her flames give way to white magmic energy as a Sol Plate formed on her left arm. "How can we fight them?" she called to Silver, reopening her eyes as the psychokinetic field faded. She swung her Sol Blade as one of the reapers approached her. Her ears told her that Silver was defending against many a reaper, but her eyes told her that there were enough coming for her. Slash, twirl, cut, block, thrust, batter, and even then she was outnumbered five-to-one, as the reapers were invincible. Sonic was flying towards Angel Island when the sound of Dracon wingbeats caused him to turn. Amy was flying towards him, and he brought to a halt, his wings moving only to keep him level as Amy came up to him. "What do you want?" Sonic asked angrily. Amy raised an accussing finger at him. "You want a win, you have to behave," she stated in an annoyed tone. Lowering her finger, she added, "You still haven't given me an answer." Realizing she was referring to her question on Darcain, Sonic reacted as though she had told him to go to hell. Giving a battle shout, he swung his clawed wingtip at her, striking her across the cheek as he spun into a slashing frenzy. "I TOLD YOU TO DROP THIS!" he shouted angrily. Amy blocked his next strike with her own wings, a hand over the cut on her cheek, then dropped and arced back up. "I told you to leave me alone!" Amy wrapped her wings around her to shield from the strike, then unwrapped as she delivered a kick to his stomach, then a fist to his head. "Calm down!" she shouted back. She lauched into a slash of her own, catching Sonic on the shoulder, but the blue hedgehog simply erupted into a flurry of kicks that Amy managed to dodge or shield every one of. Sonic flew in for a punch, but Amy grabbed it, flipped him and sent a kick into. Sonic grabbed it, righted himself, and launched another punch that sent Amy flying. All at 15000 feet. Amy slammed into a cliff, but Sonic didn't stop there. He flew towards her and shouted, "Eat it!" as he brought his leg around for a kick. Amy managed to dodge it and grabbed Sonic around the neck, then let gravity carry her forward as she delivered a kick. Sonic used the fall to gain momentum and arc into the air, but Amy delivered another kick. "I asked you a question!" she shouted, blocking a slash and sending a punch. "You're supposed to give me an answer!" "NO!" Sonic's shout had a Draconian roar in it that paralyzed Amy, and Sonic took advantage of this to rush towards her in a violent frenzy. He delivered five kicks and three slashes before rearing back for a deadly strike. Infera raised flames to block from Shadow's slash as her vision darkened in a black flame. "Back off!" she shouted as her eyes erupted into black fire. Shadow reeled back as she delivered a black-burning punch to Shadow's side, then a kick into his head. Shadow parried the kick with his blade and moved in for a deadly swipe. Refusing to give up, she swung her arm in an arc, lighting the air along it with pure black flame. Launching another dark flame at his head, she rolled into a combo. Shadow parried the attacks and slashed into his own combo. Infera coated her body in black fire, shielding slightly from the attacks, but she still got the most of it, and a cut opened up on her arm. She delivered a pure burst of black magma at Shadow, but he twirled his blade into a sawbuzz loop and swung it around like a Bo staff, blocking flames, magma, and everything else she sent at him. When he stopped the buzz, he was in a backhand grip. It didn't slow him down one bit as he moved into full Chaos mode. A mix of faint red and faint blue appeared over him as he brought into a backhand slash, leapt into an arcing slash, and spun into a spin strike. The red powered his slashes while the blue blocked Infera's, but his hand coated in Chaos energy as he snapped his fingers, distorting the battlefield. The Chaos Blade faded from his hands as time slowed and space distorted. Shadow moved into a Chaos Flurry, swarming into kicks, punches, and palm thrusts. The terrain was all the while distorting, and Infera was moving too slow to shield, but the flames provided shield enough, and the attacks did hardly anything to her. Nevertheless, when the Chaos Magic faded, the distorted terrain made combat that much harder. A Chaos Freeze from behind, a Chaos Shock from the side, and a deadly kick from above had her in a rut. Yet she didn't give up yet. Using the last of her power, Infera shot up and launched into a fiery black orb that slammed the Chaos hedgehog into the ground, created a rut, and brought him to a stop at a cliff. In a blur of flames, she appeared next to him, holding a dark flame on her hand at his throat. "What... the... hell..." Shadow managed to choke out. "Dark Fire," Infera replied. "Don't say you didn't ask for it. First you reveal that Rouge bitch right after I wipe the tears away from my eyes after your near-death. Then I see you focusing on Blaze with something in your eyes. And now you're watching Amy with unnecessary interest. I'm just another girl, aren't I?" Shadow didn't respond, and Infera cooled the flame on her hand, although her eyes remained ignited. "Back off and leave me alone," she replied. A faint steam emerged from her eyes as she shouted, "Because next time I'm really going to let Dark Fire burn." She erupted into a fiery orb that shot away from Shadow at an unusually high pace. Shadow closed his eyes. A tear fell from his eyes, staining the canyon floor. With Infera out of his life, Shadow, Ultimate Lifeform, began to cry. Silver seemed to suddenly appear at Blaze's side and grabbed the Sol Blade in her hands. Normally, the blade would have torched his hands and faded in white lava, but he actually tore the sword out of her hands, spun a slash, and held it to his side as the reapers fell back. Silver swung the Sol Blade with the skill of a professional swordsman as the Zyxes continued to batter at him. Yet he didn't let them approach Blaze and took scythe hits for her. He knocked her out of the way and brought upon himself a deep cut in his back. He attempted to repel a slash with his psychokinesis but reflected it upon himself and slashed off one of his quills, bringing an agonized howl to fly from his lips. He parried left and right, but the reapers continued to get through his guard and brought many a cut from his arms. Then the blade faded from his hands from the battering. A Zyx slashed from Silver's side, slicing another quill from him. He dropped to his knees, and Blaze saw his eyes widen as he grabbed something from the ground. He swung it around, not even bothering to evade as another Zyx took a third quill, and called, "Take this, reapers!" His hand came up in a punch that knocked one of the reapers back. In his grip was a rectangular white gem. A Sol Emerald. Blaze's eyes widened, and she materialized the Jeweled Scepter as cat and hedgehog shouted, "Sol... BLAST!" A red flash emitted from the scepter's gem and from the Sol Emerald, and Silver and Blaze spun back-to-back again as a red rift surrounded both of them, causing all ten Zyxes to explode in shadows, while Silver and Blaze were unaffected. When the destructive rift vanished, the shadows rematerialized into a single reaper, dropping to his knees. "How..." Zyx gasped, weakened. Silver held out the white Sol Emerald, and Blaze held out the Jeweled Scepter. Both were pointed accusingly at Zyx as though it was his own fault. "Back off, reaper!" Zyx, weakened, had no choice but to flee, darkness trailing behind him. Blaze sighed, and turned to Silver. Noticing the three lost quills and the cuts all over his body, she gasped and held a hand to his head. "Oh! Sorry! How did I forget? That must hurt like underworld!" Silver shook his head. "Not, not real-" he started to say, then cut himself off as he gave a shout. "AH!" he screamed, falling to his knees as the pain registered. "God!" he shouted, pained. "Uuhhhrrr, god, damn it!" Blaze dropped to his side. "Are you alright?" she asked. "I'm surprised you were able to fight with all that." Silver's eyes were closed in pain. Muffling curses, it took a while before he was able to get out, "Hell! This feels like hellfire!" Blaze's whole body vibrated subtly. "Oh! That reminds me..." "Of what?" he gasped. "Hellfire?" Blaze shook her head. "How was it that you were able to hold my Sol Blade?" she asked. "And how were you able to utilize Sol Blast? Sure, anyone who's even remotely experienced in Sol arts should be able to utilize Sol Blast, but only an experienced user should be able to take a Sol Blade or Sol Plate unless it is formed in their hands. And even then, your eyes and mouth told me that my appearance in your universe was the first sign of Sol arts." Silver shook his head, but it was only after he spoke that it distinguished between pain or response. "I'm not sure," he choked. "But somehow, the Sol Blast felt more... natural, than a Chaos Blast." Blaze shook her head and dropped to Silver's side. "I don't know. But there's one last question." Helping Silver to his feet, she asked, "The one thing that sticks in my mind that I really don't get. Why did you take all that for me?" Silver closed his eyes again and stood carefully. "Because I've already lost you once," he answered. "I don't want to lose you again." Sonic turned into a powerful missile of Draconian Aura, slamming into Amy and driving her through rock as he caused massive damage to her. When they came out of the rock, Sonic spun into a mix of wingslash, fistslam, and flipkick that sent Amy flying into the ground at an immense speed. She hit the ground and formed a rut, hardly able to see; yet, miraculously, she managed to get back up. A blue shape appeared, knocking her back down with a deadly kick. Sonic flipped and landed in front of Amy, whose was on the verge of unconsciousness. Sonic held a fist and a wingtip near Amy's neck. "I told you not to push this!" he shouted. "But you don't get it! Still you insist on pressuring me!" He brought his weapon closer, and Amy stared into his eyes. "The next time, you're going to find yourself dead as rock!" He withdrew his attack and folded his wings behind his back as he tore the crystal off of his neck and threw it at Amy. "That's it. Stay out of my life, Amy. Talk to me again and you're going to wish you were Shadow with the immortality thing." Amy's eyes started to tear up. "Sonic..." "No!" Sonic shouted. He turned away. "You better start finding a way to get rid of Infera or Blaze," he stated angrily. "Because you chase me again and you'll find yourself looking down on me." Amy closed her eyes, letting tears flow down her cheeks. When she opened them again, she was alone. Sonic the Hedgehog had left her life.
