WDC is the flagship radio station for Washington Redskins football, Washington Nationals baseball, Washington Wizards basketball & Washington Capitals hockey. ESPN 980 airs Virginia Tech Hokies College Football & Westwood One for College Basketball on Saturdays during the College Basketball Season, as an affiliate station. WDC's studios are currently located in Downtown DC & it's transmitter is located in Frederick, Maryland. It operates @ 50,000 watts of power during the day & 30,000 watts of power @ night. The signal can be heard weakly but clearly as far west as Clarksburg, West Virginia & as far south as Richmond, Virginia in the daytime. The FM stations both broadcast below 10,000 watts & mainly serve to fill in the gaps in WDC's coverage
