Andrew Pakes (born April 24, 1973) is a British politician in the Labour Party and is the Labour and Co-operative prospective parliamentary candidate for Milton Keynes North. Pakes grew up in Newport Pagnell in Milton Keynes before going on to study at the University of Hull. An active member of Labour Students, Pakes was elected twice as President of the National Union of Students as the Labour Students candidate from 1998 to 2000, having previously served as National Treasurer.

Pakes grew up in Newport Pagnell in Milton Keynes before going on to study at the University of Hull. An active member of Labour Students, Pakes was elected twice as President of the National Union of Students as the Labour Students candidate from 1998 to 2000, having previously served as National Treasurer. He went on to work for the Association of University Teachers (AUT), which is now part of the University and College Union, and worked for Nicky Gavron, then Deputy Mayor of London. Pakes currently works as a consultant on environmental and transport policy and is Co-chair of SERA - the Labour Environment Campaign. He is a councillor in the London Borough of Southwark.
