The city is situated on the western bank of the North Island Sound, within the District of Foundersville, which consists of the Foundersville metropolitan area. The city is administered by a City Manager (CM), who is chosen by and from the popularly district-elected City Council. The CM shares executive authority with the Baron of Foundersville, currently Arnold Washington. The Baron also has certain legislative and judicial authority within the city.
