First, the user must channel chakra into his or her mind and retinas. They must close their eyes in order to see that their vision becomes light blue over time. As soon as that happens, they need to use that chakra to stimulate many optic and memory nerves in their brain. If this is done correctly, there should be a tingling sensation at the back of their eyes. Shortly afterwards, with their eyes still closed, the user will tap into the opponent's mind and the user will the see the opponent's motives as if they were doing it at that exact moment. This mental projection actually creates a premonition that is almost always precise. The image should only last for about 5 seconds. Afterwards, the user should be able to know their opponent's motives for up to 2 and a half minutes.

  • First, the user must channel chakra into his or her mind and retinas. However, this jutsu is extremely risky as it is powerful. This jutsu takes a large amount of chakra to use as well as maintain. Due to the immense strain on the eyes due to this, the whites of the user's eyes will actually redden due to the arteries inside enlarging to carry more oxygen-rich blood to the brain. Due to this, after the jutsu is finished, the user will suffer from severe eye pain as well as bleeding from the eye in severe cases. Also, the user may be momentarilly blinded and undoubtedly chakra drained. If used repeatedly, the user's sight deteriorates and they can suffer headaches for years to come. Due to this, this technique must not be used unless it is in a life-or-death situation. Also, this jutsu can be used only a few times a day. During his first battle with Otoshi Nagare Gen could only use it once, during his second battle, he used it three times. Due to the eyes redding and the irises turning black, many people call this technique the False Sharingan since this technique enables the user to enter their opponent's planning.
