abstract	Colonel Erick the ammosaurus is a major protagonist in Terror Underground!, and is Commander Gruff's best spaceship tutor. Erick is extremely interested in old spaceships of all kinds and loves to fly. He taught Teggs, Blink, and Dutch on Isissia, but their astro-jet collided with one holding Damona, Netta, and Splatt, and both teams and Erick were stranded in the ice caves. Erick was injured in the crash and slept through the drama involving a giant spider that menaced the cadets. When Erick woke up, he thawed out a science ship that they had found in the ice, accidentally freeing the astrosaur Captain Liress as well as two violent raptor soldiers called Sergeant Major Bonecrack and Pilot Komo. After a short battle with the raptors, the spiders returned and took Netta with them. Erick later helped to distract Bonecrack by pushing ice onto his Doom-Bringer's assault shuttle while the (friendly) giant spiders prepared a web to catch his ship. In Christmas Crisis! Erick does not appear and is not named, but he is presumably one of the staff members frozen by Scorpo and the frosticons. Erick reappeared in Volcano Invaders!, where he took the cadets to Volcallid to practice flying, only to be seperated from Teggs and his group. He later returned with Commander Gruff to help defeat Inferniak, the evil king of the volcano-men, with the surprising aid of Tarq and Korlius, two megalosaurus scientists who were on the planet to find a way to destroy the creatures. Erick makes a final appearance in Space Kidnap!, in which Blink brings him to an astro-jet hangar that was destroyed by Damona and Netta. He helps Teggs recover from injuries inflicted by the wreckage and allows Damona's Darlings to participate in the final challenge despite their rash behaviour, on condition that they cooperate with the Daring Dinos. He was presumably present at Teggs's graduation and witnessed him winning the Order of the Star Lizard.
