- A net is a heavy thrown weapon, so a character can throw it to make ranged attacks, using Strength instead of Dexterity for ranged basic attacks. A net is also an off-hand weapon. A character can use a net to make attacks even while holding another one-handed weapon in the other hand, and can use the other one-handed weapon to make attacks even if it isn't an off-hand weapon. No class has proficiency with the net as a class trait, but any character can become proficient by taking a Weapon Proficiency feat. Martial classes may also gain proficiency with the Net Training feat.

It can be purchased for 5gp and is used to catch shrimp from level 1 and anchovies at level 15. It is advised to switch from the Small fishing net above level 15 to avoid catching shrimp to maximize exp.

- Nets are useful tools for fishing. They function like a trap for fishing; one simply needs to set a net with the fishing skill menu and leave it for a few days, then come back to check it. Fish are usually caught after 2 days of leaving the net out. However, leaving it for slightly longer than 2 days causes the fish inside to rot, forcing the player to reset the trap. Nets can catch many low-quality fish such as roaches or perches, with one or two larger fish like salmon or trout. Net set on the shore catch smaller fishes of larger quantity, but set on water catch more bigger fishes of lower quantity. Mininum set time is about one day, with approriate rituals, water condition, and skill.
- The Riebl VME bus ethernet board works great with NetBSD 5.1, with or without a battery installed. The battery just stores the hardware MAC address. The default MAC address will work fine unless another Riebl card exists on the same network and similarly uses the default MAC address.
