Desirability
| - In many ways, this can be a very useful item, if maybe not for its actual worth in battle , but for its ability to provide basic spell knowledge in the spells cast, which enables players to bookcast them without ever successfully having learned the spell from a book . Even without the spellbook available to bookcast, the wand of wonder will usually allow the spell to be cast twice or three times before knowledge dissipates completely, which can save lives too. Using many charges of wands of wonder, even an illiterate beastfighter can have a taste of the tactical possibilities of your average spellcaster's repertoire.
There is a very, very low chance Wish can be cast using a wand of wonder. This will grant a wish without killing the PC due to HP drain as the actual spell is likely to do, but it will still drain 10 points from a random stat. The chance is too low to really rely on it, however - you can zap the wand a hundred times and not get a wish.
