Ensign Keith Craig was a Human Starfleet officer assigned to the USS Sutherland during the late 2360s. In 2368, he was the flight controller when the ship participated in building a tachyon detection grid to stop the Romulans from interfering in the Klingon Civil War. When a radiation leak appeared on three of the Sutherland's lower decks as a result of a failed starboard power coupling, first officer Christopher Hobson began to order Craig to "start bringing the coolant levels down" before he was interrupted by Captain Data, who reissued the same order. He was identified as "Ensign Craig"/"Conn Officer" in script only.[1] He was also referred to in the script as an "N.D. Crewmember" to which Hobson identified in dialog as "Keith". That name was an in-joke added by Ronald D. Moore in reference to one of his brothers, the other brother being "Terry". (Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion)
