Unorthodox means "not ordinary". It is the opposite of orthodox. When used in context it may refer to an unorthodox boxing stance, which is an unusual way of positioning the hands and feet in boxing, or it may denote an unorthodox boxing style, a method of fighting in the ring that can be classified as neither in fighting, out boxing, or hybrid boxing.
