Franklin T. Matthias (1908–1993) was an American nuclear engineer who directed construction of the Hanford nuclear site, a key facility of the Manhattan Project during World War II. As a 34-year-old lieutenant colonel with the Army Corps of Engineers, he was appointed to the Hanford project by General Leslie Groves in 1942.
