They had been the Victoria Aristocrats until the Canadian military took over the Patrick Arena in 1916. They played in the Pacific Coast Hockey Association for only one season, 1916-1917. Their record was 8 wins, 15 losses, 89 goals for and 143 goals against. The Canaries were not a success either on or off the ice (attendance was not good) so they folded in 1917. Their home arena was the Elm Street Barn.
