| - War of Aggression is a punk band from Concord, Ca. Formed in the summer of 2009 as a side project, War of Aggression became known for thier intense, sometimes comical and hard driving live shows. As of June 2012 the current line up includes ex-members of United Defiance, The Need, Enemy of Life and The Excuse. Brought together and influenced from the music they grew up with, they found a mix that works in all heavy genres. Fitting with punk, hardcore, metal and rock n' roll bands, they may be one of the 'new crossover" bands. All of such influence can be heard in their music and seen in their live performances. WoA’s first show was a prime example of what was to come... order out of complete chaos. From the first note to the last, the 6 song set that went 0-100 instantly, hit the club like a car slamming into a brick wall. The crowd response prompted the members of the band to see that their “side project,” had the potential to make some real noise in the local scene. Making the decision that the project was in fact a band, they set out and booked their first show, a local dive/punk bar was the perfect place to formally showcase “War of Aggression.” By the end of it… they knew were right. The crowd was taken in by the energy that came out of each member and the band as a whole. This crazy, chaotic energy became signature for the band, as the shows that followed seem to only magnify and continue to develop the intensity more and more. With more time together as a band and the notority that came with each of thier live shows they adapeted a more serious outlook. The guys got to writing songs to fill out the set while including some small nuances in their live performances. Without turning anything into a gimmick or too scripted, WoA began to take shape and build character. Presenting the band aggressively, yet as simple as a band that always delivers the same thing… a great show. They took a short hiatus in 2010, but WoA re-united to see what more they could offer. Picking right up where they had left off, it was apparent that each had grown musically in their own right and had more to bring to the table for the second time around. Having not recorded anything due to a heavy schedule of playing shows and other commitments, WoA pulled together enough shows to raise the money for 2-8 hour sessions at House Of Faith Recording Studios in Oakland, CA. Finishing a self-produced 7 song EP in November 2010, the fire was re-lit and WoA has hit the ground running. Booking shows through the Northern California area and beyond, War of Aggression looks to continue their onslaught of hard hitting punk/rock music with intense live shows and to challenge the scene itself… step up and put it all on the table. War of Aggression spent mid July at Lodasia Sound in Richmond, Ca recording 4 new songs. They plan to finish recording and release the 4 new singles in Fall 2012.
