Tract of order is a type of book in ADOM. Each time one is read successfully (which usually takes over 100 turns) it will increase piety with lawful deity, reduce piety towards other two deities, remove corruption points (~10% of single corruption), and slightly increase alignment towards L+. Changes in piety can cause divine retribution, but having high piety with character's deity typically prevents that. Piety status of 'very close' is recommended for studying scripts.

Desirability
| - These tracts can serve as a reliable source of corruption removal for characters of any alignment, as long as they have enough piety to protect from potential retribution.
Experimenting demonstrated that lawful characters actually keep gaining piety while reading these, while others lose piety to their god at pace of ~500 gold sacrifice per single reading. Thus, it would take around 5000 gold to remove one whole corruption, which seems to rather cheap. Piety increases/decreases do not seem to scale with a number of readings.
Tracts, however, have limited numbers of "charges" , just as spellbooks do.
