The Cranbrook Estate (also known as the Bethnal Green Estate) is a unique council estate in the Tower Hamlets area of East London. Completed in 1957, before many other council estates, it consists of six tower blocks in pairs in height order. On November 10 2005, around 100 people crammed the community centre to hear Galloway and Edgar debate a proposed transfer to Swan Housing Association. When Galloway asked 'who is in favour of this?' no voices were raised. Tenants are now discussing ways to pull the estate out of the transfer process.
