The station was built in 1908, complete with small goods yard with goods shed. However, this has since been removed (though a siding still exists) and the site taken over by E H Smith. The 1907 built signalbox that stood on the Stratford-upon-Avon bound platform was demolished at the end of 2010 despite a local campaign to see its retention. Some of the contents, particularly the 3 bar horizontal locking lever frame, have been retrieved for reuse by the heritage railway movement.
