Barbenfouillis was president of an astronomers committee responsible for an early landing on the moon. Barbenfouillis proposed the trip to the moon and after some debate amongst the astronomers the trip was voted upon. He selected five colleagues to accompany him: Nostadamus, Alcofrisbas, Omega, Micromegas and Parafaragamus. Following the successful return of the astronomers company the "Order of the Moon" was conferred upon Barbenfouillis and his colleagues, a commemorative statue representing President Barbenfouillis vanquishing the moon was also erected in his honour.
