The Hammer is a tool in Harvest Moon 64. It is one of the five upgradeable tools that will start in the player's inventory. The hammer is used to destroy stones on the player's farm. Large stones will require six strikes to destroy; small ones require only one strike. A hammer can also flatten out tilled soil. It upgrades every 100 uses, for a maximum of two times. A gold hammer (third and final upgrade) is necessary to smash the rock on the Kappa's Pond (next to the fisherman's tent) to retrieve a Power Berry.
