  • Shane Hobbs is a forward who is a product of the youth setup at Bristol Rovers. He was awarded a professional contract for the first time in 2003, and spent the 2003-04 season as a member of the first team squad. During this campaign he was sent out on loan to Clevedon Town on work experience terms, and became their top scorer with twelve goals. He featured twice for the Rovers first team during his year-long stint with the squad. His debut came on 18 October 2003 in a 2–0 defeat to Cambridge United at the Memorial Stadium, when he came on as a 70th-minute replacement for Wayne Carlisle. His second and final appearance was on 28 December 2003, when Rovers lost 1–0 at Kidderminster Harriers and Shane came on for Junior Agogo after 66 minutes, meaning that his first team career lasted for a grand total of 44 minutes. This would prove to be the extent of his career in the Football League, and after leaving Rovers he played for a number of local non-league sides, including Mangotsfield United, Frome Town, Hallen, Totterdown POB and Taunton Town, before returning to Clevedon Town for a single substitute appearance. During the 2008–09 season he played for Henbury in the Gloucestershire County League, where he has lined up alongside his brother, and under his father who was assistant manager of the club. He finished that campaign as top scorer in the Gloucestershire County League with 32 goals, and the following season he played for Highridge United, leaving them in 2010 when he moved to south Devon. In April 2012 he was sentenced to 16 months in prison for sexual assault after being caught on CCTV putting his hand down a woman's trousers in Exeter city centre.
