- Peel allegedly played their first independent single "Fear Machine" when they were still known as Art Nouveau, although there is no recorded evidence of this. His only brush with Kajagoogoo's music seems to be when presenting the band on Top of the Pops in February 1983. After the band's actual performance, he managed to treat them with some disdain during the chart countdown commenting: "At No.5, “Too Shy”, Kajagoogoo. We’ve already seen these little blighters. I mean enough’s enough ,eh?". However, a copy of the band's debut album White Feathers found its way into the Record Collection. Peel was presenter on the show for Limahl's only performance of his 1983 hit single "Only For Love".
