The unnamed Police Officer was on patrol with another officer on 26th August 1963 on the A580 between Liverpool and Lancashire when they happened upon a noisy group of drinkers whose bus had broken down. As it was 2am, the other officer tried to calm the revellers, but when they failed to take any notice of him, the officer in the police car called for a prison van. This small part was played by Roy Minton, who would go on to great acclaim as a writer in the late 1960s. Chiefly remembered among his works was the banned television play "Scum".
