To forge such a connection, you must strive for something greater than what is found in the natural world with all your being and believe such a world to be a higher power than this. Despite it's gloomy name, users of this technique are not necessarily evil. Many users of this technique have found a positive use for it's abilities. The powers and forms this jutsu comes in are just about infinate to the user's imagination. Unfortunately the more the user abuses this power the more taint is imbued into their very being. The first use of this technique was by Reizu Niigata, who was also the first holder of the Makkuragan. He changed the state of chakra and made the clan known for their mastery of shape manipulation. He used this kekkei genkai to control the shadow dimension of the raw beasts and chakra that existed inside it and being them into loyal comrades of the Niigata Clan. This technique was soon spread amongst the clan, giving birth to numerous uses of the ability. Although in time, it became known that users of the technique grew corrupted to their very soul, and in time would become nothing more than a piece of the Shadow Dimension. it is the job of those gifted with the Makkuragan to keep members of the Niigata clan from falling to the darkness.
