Sailormoon is a 2003 action/fantasy/sci-fi film directed by George Lucas and Quentin Tarantino. Based on Sailor Moon USA by Masamune Shirow, which itself is loosely based on the Sailor Moon anime, the film stars Emma Watson as the title character, a crybaby named Usagi Tsukino who becomes Sailor Moon, Champion of Justice, after a strange meeting with a black cat named Luna, so she can fight the Negaverse. Initial theatrical screenings, as well as the initial DVD (and pan-and-scan VHS) release, were flat, but the letterboxed VHS release, the 2005 re-release in Real D, and the 2008 BluRay release (and 2010 DVD re-release) were in 3-D. Along with its sequel, Sailor Moon R, the film is the first Disney Digital 3-D release.
