Tokyo Tower is located in the Shiba-koen district of Minato, Tokyo, and is 333 metres tall. Like the Eiffel Tower, it has ample amounts of Radio apparatus and antennae which help supply television and radio signals to the city below. Until 2011, it was the tallest structure in Japan, with the title now going to the Tokyo Skytree, which is 634 meters tall. Tokyo Tower is still important, given its status as a transmitter and tourist attraction, but the Skytree was built to assist in its role, as tall buildings near the transmitters now interfere with Tokyo Tower's transmissions.

The first time the level is played, the tower walks backwards shooting at the player for a short distance, then stops. If the Tokyo level is replayed after the mid-point boss battle, the tower walks sideways-- and consequently falls into the lake on the right side of the stage.

It's clearly visible from most of town, and is a frequent destination for class trips from local schools. (It is also sometimes referred to as "Touto Tower".) With all the suffering and destruction that happens there, it's a wonder that anyone is permitted near it... The top was bent by a powerful earthquake on Friday, March 11th, 2011.
